Our new short film EXPOSURE is now live on YouTube! 🔗Link in bio to watch! After years of therapy with no success, Alice is desperate to overcome the night she was brutally attacked. Reluctantly, she turns to exposure therapy through a virtual reality, but things become disturbingly real… This film was our 3rd annual submission to @jakobowens annual Horror Short Film Contest. Each year I am thankful to watch myself grow as a filmmaker, refining our process and ending up with a more satisfying final product. Hello everyone!! That’s officially a wrap on our upcoming short horror film “Exposure” for @jakobowens annual shot horror competition!!A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this film possible. This project meant so much to me. Not only is it my directorial debut, it is also the most ambitious project i’ve ever done. So much love, blood, sweat and tears was poured into this. I first want to thank my incredible partner @carson_beddows for believing in me and my crazy ideas. I couldn’t do this without you and your constant support and encouragement. Secondly, I want to thank @tin.antonio.naz for being the best 1st AD a girl could ask for. Lastly, I want to thank the rest of this amazing crew for helping make my vision come to life. We did an intense overnight shoot and I am so grateful for the time and hard work that this team but in. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me. We have more BTS coming this week so please stay tuned. We also will be releasing our film Oct. 13th !! We can’t wait for everyone to see it! Also want to give a huge shoutout to @panavisionofficial !! We are so lucky and thankful we got to film there and to use equipment. Thanks for supporting young filmmakers!! Some stills from @factor8films most recent project ‘Homebound’. What was initially intended to be a simple MOS short we could be done with in the span of a month turned into one of our biggest lessons in filmmaking so far. First day on set, our camera shut down unexpectedly and we were unable to get a replacement so we postponed the shoot for a couple weeks out. The next week, we got in a car accident, our car was totaled and our hopes were about as low as they could get. But we pushed forward and kept our shoot date for the next weekend. The next weekend as we started shooting, a light we had rented gave out on us - making a lighting gag essential to the film impossible. All of this plus shooting in our crammed apartments kitchen made for a real nightmare. Then, post production was its entirely own beast. All of that to say, making a film is hard - especially when life throws hurdles at you simultaneously. There were multiple times through this process that we considered scrapping the project, but I’m glad we stuck with it. I’m proud of the team that got this thing made despite everything going against us. If you haven’t seen it already, you can watch ‘Homebound’ at the link in my bio! “Homebound” follows Jane, a devoted wife preparing for what should be an ordinary evening - dinner on the table, the house in order, and her husband’s return from work. But as the hours pass and the food grows cold, Jane begins to unravel. As time progresses, doubt starts to creeps in. Will he ever come home? We are so excited to announce that our short film “Homebound” is finally done! A few months ago we were both really itching to make something but didn’t have a ton of money. That is when this fun idea came to us and we decided to make use of our resources and filmed it in our tiny kitchen. We will be releasing the film this Friday at 3 PM so please stay tuned and follow along this week for behind the scenes content. Thank you to everyone that helped make this happen.
