As makeup artists, we all know the golden rule. Don't hand your client the mirror too soon. I think about it like this: When a look is halfway done, it's not the final picture yet, it's like judging a painting before the last brushstrokes are added. Foundation might look a little flat before bronzer brings warmth, lashes might look "too much" before lips balance everything out, and even brows can seem bold until the full glam ties together. A client might get anxious when they see the unfinished work & unblended intense contour lines. That's why I always wait until the almost finished stage to hand over the mirror. This way, my client gets to see the full vision, the glow, the blend, the harmony of all the details. Even though the look is complete, a client might still wish for small changes to be made. This is why it is important to really listen to your client during the glam & consultation beforehand. At the end, we can go over any small adjustments together, making sure they feel confident and comfortable before they walk out glowing. MY PRO TIP: Only apply a small layer of powder, incase the client will wish for bigger changed. Once you have fully powdered and set the face, bigger changes are harder to do. To prevent making big changes, always listen to your client during consultation and look at inspo pictures together. Makeup is a process. Trust the layers, trust your artist, and let the magic unfold before the big reveal. What is your take on this?
