20 years ago, Gemma & Dan were standing next to each other for their primary school photo… unaware who each other were and that they were standing beside their future husband and wife.
Then they went to secondary school, Bradford Grammar together, still barely knowing each other at all.
Fast forward to 2019 on the dance floor at The Yard in Ilkley, an encounter between them brought about by our friend Grace, changed everything.
Only years later did they rediscover that same primary school photo and realise they’d been standing side by side the whole time 💛
I went to school with Gemma and Dan myself, and it was such an honour to capture their day surrounded by so many wonderful friends, old and new.
The Hovels at Harewood House was the stage for an emotional, electric, superb day of celebrations. One of the funniest Best Men’s speeches I’ve heard, a raucous dance floor followed by rocking karaoke, incredible food - The Hovels outdid themselves, so so impressive, and despite the rain, it was a wedding no one could forget, everyone had a ball 🪩
One of my favourite parts of the day was after the ceremony, I caught Dan looking out of a window quite solitarily. I went over and asked if he was okay, he turned to me and said ‘that ceremony was the best moment of my life’…. Incredible 🥹

Ten frames I love from Harriet + Sam’s beautiful Yorkshire wedding ✨
The great outdoors is my happy place and when Harriet and Sam’s email landed in my inbox saying that they were getting married on the family farm amongst the Yorkshire hills, I did a happy dance and kept everything crossed that they’d pick me to capture their day 🌿
Everything about their ceremony was breathtaking ~ from the stunning backdrop to the personal words and music. A day where you could really feel all the love that their family and friends had poured into making it the most magical celebration.
