On täysin normaalia tuntea pientä päänvaivaa siitä, miten pukea aktiivinen lapsi kestävästi sekä lämpimästi ilman, että lompakko tyhjenee täysin. ​Meillä kevään varustelu onnistui tänä vuonna lempeän edullisesti – koko paketti maksoi yhteensä 77 euroa. Se vaati hieman ennakointia ja kirppistelyä, mutta samalla se oli teko luonnon ja oman mielenrauhan puolesta. ​Poimi talteen vinkit sujuvampaan välikauteen: • ​Satsaa jatkuvuuteen: Valitse vaatteita, jotka kasvavat lapsen mukana. Esimerkiksi Didriksonsin "Extend Size" -ominaisuus on kuin pieni lahja tulevalle itsellesi – sama vaate menee vielä syyskautenakin. • ​Huolla oikein: Muista huoltaa vaatteet aina ohjeiden mukaan. As much as I love slow handstitching techniques, my own clothes often spend a long time in the mending pile waiting for me to find enough time and energy to make them wearable. 😬 My plan for these new-to-me jeans is to use FabPatches for some of the repairs in the hope that it will allow me to finally start wearing them... (I will not be taking questions on how long they've spent in the mending basket). [ad] I recently got to meet Taija from @fabpatch , who very kindly gave me personal demo of their super cool repair patch. She described it as a BandAid for your clothes: there's no sewing or ironing involved, you just peel off the backing and rub it for one minute... and you're done. (You can use any smooth object for the rubbing - I thought it would be fun to use one of my vintage darning mushrooms.) Don't ask me how it works, I haven't got a clue. There may be some science involved, but it seems equally likely that it's just magic. @prym.europe sent me some patches from their collaboration with FabPatch, so I'm now on a mission to try them out!
