Another reel showing the carving process and a badly angled reveal pull of the test print… trying to find a studio where I can print a run of my ā€˜Canterbury Cathedral Gate’ print properly #linocut #linoprint #handmade #handcarved #canterburyartist #canterbury #kentbusiness

✨What a wild ride these last two months have been — and the Hangzhou International Cultural and Creative Expo 2025 was an absolute peak!✨ After showcasing at London Design Week, I was recommended and invited last minute to exhibit at this huge show in China šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³ Over 50,000 visitors in four days — and they’d even built me a beautiful stand to recreate my studio on The Old High Street in Folkestone. It looked so lovely! A HUGE thank you to @kirstynbrook for coming with me, helping me, and for being part of the steps that led me here — and on to what’s next… There are some really exciting collaborations coming soon šŸ‘€ We arrived a couple of days early to shake off the jet lag and explore Hangzhou — an enormous and stunningly beautiful city. West Lake absolutely stole my heart — especially the lotus flowers and leaves that line its edges near the singing willows. 🌿 That became my inspiration for an onsite A3 linocut, carved live during the show! Crowds gathered to watch — and surprisingly, I found it relaxing. Turns out I can carve pretty quickly when 10s (or 100s!) of people are watching šŸ‘€ We were surrounded by brilliant artists from across Europe — Portugal, The Netherlands, Italy — and it was inspiring to share stories and projects. I’m already dreaming of visiting their studios in the future. Back in the shop and open studio this Saturday, just in time for Folkestone’s Halloween festivities — and looking forward to the wonders November will bring. šŸŽƒāœØ #artiststudio #hangzhou #travelinchina #businesstrip #designshow #creativeshowcase #linocutartist #folkestoneartist #printmakingjourney

Carving, printing, drying, and a bit of shop life in between. I don’t always manage to put everything online — partly because I’m a one-woman studio, and partly because some pieces are one-off prints or small experiments that sell before they ever get photographed. So the shop tends to hold the most up-to-date selection of work. It changes all the time — which keeps it interesting, even for me. If you’re nearby, come and have a look… you never know what you’ll find. #linocut #linoprint #printmaking #handmadeart #folkestone

Throwback Thursday. 44 hours into carving my largest linocut (before I doubled the scale this year.) I took the block back out when I was part way through the process, to carve outside in the sun (making it easier to carve too) and to visit some of the original inspiration sites on Folkestone Leas — it’s always interesting to see how places translate into carved marks and shapes. Can you spot one of the other locations in the block? šŸ‘€ #lino #linocut #linogravure #folkestone #artistsoninstagram

From linocut to silk. These scarves began as original hand-carved linoprints before being translated onto silk through the same specialist supplier used by Liberty London. The floral design originated from a linocut I created at 21 while working as a product designer for John Lewis, where the print appeared across lampshades and table lamps. Years later, the design has returned to me and found a new life in textile form. The cloud and bird designs are based on two of my largest linocuts at the time — Folkestone West and Canterbury Cathedral Gate — both inspired by places that continue to shape my work and hold deep personal significance. The Folkestone skies especially have become an ongoing theme within my practice since exhibiting at the HICE show in Hangzhou last year. Light, atmosphere, and shifting weather continue to reappear throughout the work: sometimes muted, sometimes obscured, sometimes filling the entire composition. What matters most to me is that the scarves still retain the feeling of the original carved and printed marks they came from. Thank you especially the @steep_street angels for modelling with me - you absolute babes #silkscarf #linocut #textiledesign #slowmade #wearableart

Our eyeballs have been treated to these gorgeous murals by @fabiahgoff for almost two months now and we can’t stop looking at all the detail! These #BeerShopArtistWall murals stay up for a year so there’s plenty of time left to pop in and admire this one if you haven’t already. We have a couple of Fabia’s prints for sale behind the bar but for everything else, pop down to her beautiful shop at the bottom of The Old High Street. Big thanks again to Fabia for creating this beautiful piece for our space. šŸ™šŸ¼ _ _ _ _ _ #BeerShopFolkestone #BeerAndArt #Folkestone #FolkestoneArtists

It’s time for taking a breath. Pause and carve with me. This is day 2 of carving my largest linocut to date. Filled with leaves, thistles, plants, blackberries and details, you’ll see something new each time you watch. This is one small corner of an A1 Linocut I’m creating to showcase in London Design Week in September. Expanding on my love for Folkestone and the coast, this piece encapsulates Folkestone Lighthouse, Dover Cliffs and The Warren. Follow along to see how this progresses. #linocut #wip #linocutprint #coastalart #carving

Follow along to see how much I carve each day out of this A1 Linocut block… This is day 1. I’ve made a start on the clouds, the lighthouse and the plants of the warren. Yes, I like to jump around and carve sporadically across my design - it keeps things interesting. This block will be one of 2/3 where I’ll be layering the colours and creating depth in ways I haven’t before… #linocut #linocutprint #wip #coastaldecor

How artwork can transform your living space… I had the privilege of helping curate my own artwork in a friends home the other day. They already knew where they were going to go really, I just egged them on and helped frame and tweak placement. Art has this magical way of taking up space and balancing texture and depth. It feels more yours. My top tip? Have an oversized centre piece- something that connects you to where you live or how you want to feel when in that room and the rest will naturally follow #art #artinthehome #homestyle
