it’s pub day for ORANGE ISLAND. every author i’ve talked to always echoes the fact you only get one debut novel and it’s going to feel incredibly weird when it finally comes out. and guess what, they were all right! it does. a three year journey in bringing this story to life is finally over and now ORANGE ISLAND is yours. this book could be set nowhere but orlando. I love florida. i love the plants, the animals, the humidity that sticks to my face, the limestone, the constant hum of bugs and AC units, the scar it left on my elbow from skateboarding on new suburban sidewalk, the field trips to the theme parks, the dry rot on my bike tires, the view of the ocean like the end of the world, and the stirring, the CONSTANT stirring, underneath the tannins in the water.
