At the end of last year, we debuted a double feature of “S for Sound, S for Solidarity” - episodes 6 & 7 with @hannibal_andersen and @verdensrommet.network on @radioalhara - thank you to everyone who tuned in online and especially to those who joined our “Listening and Walking” event in Aalborg! These episodes are now available to listen to online via our soundcloud page. See link in bio! Episode 6 traces intriguing trajectories across Hannibal Andersen’s recent artistic practice, particularly in relation to social & cooperative housing models from Aalborg to Copenhagen, critical gamification in New York, and experimental playground environments in Denmark. A red thread running through the conversation is art’s role in rethinking private ownership and property relations, especially in relation to affordable housing and reconsidering the economics of the built environment. Episode 7 features the art organization Verdensrommet through a conversation with members @sara_shooshtari_ and @plynths where they describe the network for non-EU immigrant artists and creatives in Norway. In a conversation with f.eks.’ @scottwilliamraby taking place between Aalborg and Trondheim, the episode not only looks to highlight and share challenges non-EU immigrant artists face across different Scandinavian contexts, but also seeks to share transnational knowledge and find solidarity in the art field and more broadly. The episode also features music by Aalborg-based multi-disciplinary artist @sandromasai . #hannibalandersen #verdensrommet #sarashooshtari #tarafraser #sforsoundsforsolidarity

We recently hosted the event “Listening and Walking” in Aalborg that coincided with the debut of two new “S for Sound, S for Solidarity” episodes on @radioalhara with @hannibal_andersen and @verdensrommet.network ! During the site-specific guided listening walk through Aalborg, we collectively listened to a double feature of episode 6 with Hannibal Andersen and Episode 7 with Verdensrommet featuring @sara_shooshtari_ and @plynths as they premiered online. Throughout the walk, we visited locations and institutions in Aalborg’s built environment that were mentioned in the episodes to contextualize them locally as the episodes played back to back. The sixth episode of “S for Sound, S for Solidarity” traces intriguing trajectories across Hannibal Andersen’s recent artistic practice, particularly in relation to social cooperative housing, critical gamification, and experimental playgrounds. A red thread running through the conversation is art’s role in rethinking ownership and property relations, especially in relation to affordable housing and reconsidering the economics of the cityscape. In the seventh episode of “S for Sound, S for Solidarity”, members from the experimental, non-profit art organization Verdensrommet unpack their positions within the institution and network for non-EU immigrant artists and creatives in Norway. By doing so, they not only look to highlight and share challenges non-EU immigrant artists face in Scandinavia, but also seek to share transnational knowledge and find solidarity in the art field and more broadly. Stay tuned for more episodes in 2026! #hannibalandersen #verdensrommet #sforsoundsforsolidarity #feksplatform #radioalhara

We recently debuted the double feature of “S for Sound, S for Solidarity” - episode 4 & 5 with @aalborgartistsassociation (AAAA) and @artistprojectgroup (APG) on @radioalhara - thank you to everyone who tuned in online and especially to those who joined our live “Listening Lounge” at Håndværkerhuset in Aalborg! These episodes are now available to listen to on soundcloud. Link in bio! Episode 4 “The Collective Voice” with Aalborg Artist’s Association (AAAA) featured @kamilla_mez , TWIIID, and @scottwilliamraby , et al. as a remixed montage of a vocal workshop of the same title. Recorded at Håndværkerhuset in October 2025. Consisting of speech acts, discussions, people’s mics, and sing-a-longs where artists expressed their voices on economic, social, and institutional challenges in relation to Aalborg’s art sector. Episode 5 “Artists Have the Answers” by the Vienna based Artist Project Group (APG) sonically unfolded various social, economic, and political possibilities for artists to engage institutions differently via APG’s experimental practice as an “artist consultancy agency”. APG (@lukasheistinger , Andrea Steves, and @bernhard.gustav ) along with artists Miriam Simun, Parsa Sanjana Sajid, and Bureau of Analogies discussed their relationship to this artistic infrastructure set to a background of Aalborg’s local music scene. Thank you to @vaegtlos , @oskarkrusell , @tonefromdenmark , @hummerdrengmusik , Grassat, @bjorn_svin , Angst, Wäldchengarten, Twelve Tone Ballads Trio, HaremSluts, and Simi The Curse for the fantastic soundtrack! We are happy to invite everyone to “S for Sound, S for Solidarity: Listening & Walking” - a site-specific guided listening walk through Aalborg, where we collectively listen to a double feature of episodes with @hannibal_andersen & @verdensrommet.network on Thursday, December 18th from 3:00 - 5:00 pm as they both are premiered on @radioalhara . “Listening & Walking” features the two new “S for Sound, S for Solidarity” episodes - episode 6 with Hannibal Andersen and episode 7 with Verdensrommet featuring @sara_shooshtari_ and @plynths . With a starting point in Andersen’s public art project “Everything Must Go” that took place in Aalborg in 2022, and following up on his ongoing practice incorporating critical gamification in New York, to creating experimental playground environments in Copenhagen, the sixth episode traces intriguing trajectories across Andersen’s recent practice that highlight the “right to the city”. We are happy to soon broadcast the fifth episode of “S for Sound, S for Solidarity: Artists Have the Answers” by @artistprojectgroup on @radioalhara this Saturday, November 29th at 6 pm CET! As part of this, f.eks. is hosting an in-person “S for Sound, S for Solidarity: Listening Lounge” at Håndværkerhuset in Aalborg, Denmark on Saturday from 4:30 - 7:30 pm CET. There, we collectively listen to a double feature, also including “The Collective Voice” with @aalborgartistsassociation (AAAA) as both episodes are premiering back-to-back on Radio alHara. In the fifth episode “Artists Have the Answers” the Vienna based Artist Project Group (APG) will sonically unfold various social, economic, and political possibilities for artists to engage institutions differently via their experimental practice as an “artist consultancy agency”. Through interviews, discussion, testimonies, and sound bites from artists who have operated within their consultancy infrastructure, APG suggests “artists have the answers” in a remixed audio exploration of their ongoing artistic consultancy practice. APG sets this broader narrative to a soundtrack of Aalborg’s local music scene (including @vaegtlos , @oskarkrusell , @tonefromdenmark , @hummerdrengmusik , et al.) as a contextual connection to their previous artist consultancy work in Northern Denmark. This includes their 2019 project Aalborg Anti-Artwashing Agreement (AAAA), which later helped motivate the establishment of the Aalborg Artists Association (AAAA). All are welcome to tune into the online broadcast on Radio alHara at 5 pm CET and we look forward to welcoming you to Håndværkerhuset in Aalborg at 4:30 pm CET this Saturday for the live event! #apg #artistsprojectgroup #aaaa #aalborgartistsassociation #artistshavetheanswers #thecollectivevoice #sforsoundsforsolidarity #feksplatform #radioalhara #radio #lukasheistinger #bernardgarnicnig #andreasteves #aalborgantiartwashing #vægtløs #oskarkrusell #tone #hummerdreng #scottwilliamraby #kamillamez #korma #husetihasserisgade #statenskunstfond #danishartsfoundation #denjyskekunstfond #augustinusfonden #aalborgkommune

We are happy to soon broadcast the fourth episode of “S for Sound, S for Solidarity: The Collective Voice” featuring @aalborgartistsassociation on @radioalhara this Saturday, November 29th at 5 pm CET! As part of this, f.eks. is hosting an in-person “S for Sound, S for Solidarity: Listening Lounge” at Håndværkerhuset in Aalborg, Denmark on Saturday from 4:30 - 7:30 pm CET. There, we collectively listen to a double feature, also including episode 5 “Artists Have the Answers” by @artistprojectgroup (APG) as both episodes are premiering back-to-back on Radio alHara. “The Collective Voice” was an experimental vocal workshop co-hosted by Aalborg Artist’s Association (AAAA) with Kamilla Marlene Roy Mez, Scott William Raby, and TWIIID, et al. at Håndværkerhuset in October 2025; the fourth episode of the same title presents a remixed montage of voices featuring local artists and art workers from Northern Denmark. It collages a selection of speech acts, discussions, chants, people’s mics, and sing-a-longs that provide a platform for artists to express their voices to better understand their economic, social, and institutional challenges locally in relation to broader contexts. Last week as part of “The Collective Voice” f.eks. along with @aalborgartistsassociation hosted a discursive vocalization event at Håndværkerhuset in Aalborg. Thank you to everyone who came and made their voice heard! During the event, the historic building was transformed into a temporary public recording studio and experimental vocal workshop space where different artists and artworkers could “voice” their socio-economic and political concerns in relation to (local) cultural policy. Through activated and amplified presentations by artists Kamilla Mez and Scott William Raby as well as readings, group discussion, chants, a people’s microphone, and a sing-along with TWIIID, the collective sonic expressions were recorded in different ways. The recoded audio content will be remixed and edited into a new episode of “S for Sound, S for Solidarity”that will air as part of a double feature with Austrian artist group APG on @radioalhara on November 29th, from 5 - 7 pm CET with an accompanying “listening lounge” in Aalborg (more information TBA). Thank you for the kind support to The Danish Arts Foundation, Den Jyske Kunstfond, Aalborg Municipality, and Augustinus Fonden. A special thank you to Radio alHara, Huset i Hasserisgade, Korma, Håndværkerhuset, Morten Poulsen, and Nikolaj Legaard for helping with the realization of this project. #aaaa #aalborgartistsassociation #thecollectivevoice #sforsoundsforsolidarity #feksplatform #radioalhara #radio #scottwilliamraby #kamillamez #twiiid #korma #husetihasserisgade #statenskunstfond #danishartsfoundation #denjyskekunstfond #augustinusfonden #aalborgkommune

Join us for “S for Sound, S for Solidarity: The Collective Voice” featuring @aalborgartistsassociation at Håndværkerhuset tonight from 4:00 - 7:30 pm. During the event, we invite you to sing along with TWIIID’s “What is Work?” – a parody of Haddaway’s famous 90’s hit “What is Love?” that invites for a karaoke take on fair pay and care in the art sector. “The Collective Voice” seeks to provide an experimental format for the collective expression of creative and critical voices in a welcoming environment. The gathering draws inspiration from speeches, songs, discussions, chants, people’s mics and other forms of sound utilized to express solidarity and unity across public protests, strikes, and other activistic and organizational contexts. “The Collective Voice” will provide a platform for understanding the local situation in Aalborg, in which artists often experience economic, social, and institutional challenges, as well as function to contextualize this in relation to wider artistic struggles and broader global frameworks. “The Collective Voice” takes place at a time when artistic cultural policy in Northern Jutland is tenuous; funding is being cut, Kunsthal Nord has closed, Aalborg University is slated to remove entire cultural departments, and municipal studios are in jeopardy. This is in a climate where local artists stated they experienced exclusion, marginalization, and are lacking a seat at the table in many decisions that immediately affect their socio-economic and cultural positions. “The Collective Voice” seeks to provide a space for expression free from (self-)censorship, drawing on historical forms that share knowledge, create new awareness, and energize audiences. #aaaa #aalborgartistsassociation #thecollectivevoice #sforsoundsforsolidarity #feksplatform #radioalhara #radio #scottwilliamraby #kamillamez #twiiid #tobiasvanroyen #korma #husetihasserisgade #statenskunstfond #danishartsfoundation #denjyskekunstfond #augustinusfonden #aalborgkommune

All are welcome to join and make their voices heard! “The Collective Voice” takes place at a time when artistic cultural policy in Northern Jutland is tenuous; funding is being cut, Kunsthal Nord has closed, Aalborg University is slated to remove entire cultural departments, and municipal studios are in jeopardy. AAAA is a multi-faceted organization that acts as an independent political advisor, arts policy platform, artist collective, project space, and social forum.
