Sad song for a sweet experience…on a sad film. Loved running around with this crew and cast over the weekend shooting A Polyohony Etude about Relationships. We did it!

Had an amazing opportunity this summer to work with none other than Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer himself! šŸŽ„ Spent four days filming at his Dog Psychology Center, capturing the installation of K9Grass turf. It was surreal working alongside someone I grew up watching and admire so much. Grateful for the experience and the chance to combine my passion for storytelling with such an iconic figure in the dog world! Shoutout to @odinsoffphotography for capturing it all with me #CesarMillan @ #DogWhisperer #K9Grass #DreamProject #Filmmaking #betterhumansbetterdogs

Directing is adapting. You’ve gotta take the hand you’re dealt and do the best you can with it. Had an incredible opportunity to work with Cesar again yesterday, and we had to do a massive pivot on the script and creative that—as usual—ended up elevating the video into something way better than what we’d anticipated. That’s the best part about collaborating with really talented people. Great collaborators can truly elevate a project.

If we connected in 2025, I’m so grateful for you! If not, here’s hoping 2026 brings us together! Shoutout to Josie for making me a girl dad!

Spent the weekend watching a script I wrote (ā€˜Maybe Yesterday’) actually come to life and man… that never gets old. First time writing something for someone else to direct (aka way less stressful šŸ˜‚), and getting to collaborate with Victor — LMU directing 3rd year — was honestly such a gift. We made this thesis lost-love romance short (think past lives meets the big chill), I got to jump in and play a role, and the whole thing was just pure joy. Grateful for every insanely talented person I met along the way. More to comešŸŽ¬šŸ’œ

Josiah ā€œJosieā€ Rose Gentle šŸ’•šŸŒ¹ Sunday, 7/20 @ 6:36pm 8lbs 1 oz | 21 Inches The biggest surprise of our lives came into the world on Sunday and we’re over the moon. Josie Rose you’re everything we’ve prayed for and the perfect bookend to our party of five. If you are in for a long read you can read on for all the nitty gritty details. šŸ˜‚šŸ‘‡šŸ» After a trip to Target on Sunday I started having contractions about 10 mins a part. Ezra and I joke that of course a basic trip to target is what got our girl moving. 🤣 I wasn’t convinced we were in labor because I’d had some contractions throughout the week. We got home around 2:30 and I text my midwife @mamanurturebirth just to be cautious so she came over to set up. Katie and @mikkibello checked on me and after setting up decided to leave so I could labor a little longer. @meganlebre amazing friend and doula came over and we labored and worshipped in my bedroom for a couple hours. At one point Ezra walked in on me weeping on my hands and knees on the bathroom floor because I was overflowing with gratitude for this baby, this birth, and how God was moving. My biggest prayer throughout pregnancy was that the birth would feel like heaven and earth touched and I have to say that throughout the entire process His presence felt so thick. Continued in comments.

This weekend, I celebrated Father’s Day with my dad—for the first time in 20 years. I made a short film called Father’s Day about the complicated, messy, beautiful, painful parts of father-son relationships. For many, this day brings joy. For others, it brings grief, distance, or old wounds. I’ve lived on both sides. And as a dad to two boys, I feel the weight of it all. This film is a piece of my journey—for anyone out there who finds this day hard. Wherever you are in your story, I hope you can take a moment to be grateful for how far you’ve come. Technically, this was also an AI experiment. I used ChatGPT to help write the script, ElevenLabs to recreate my dad’s voice, AI-generated music, and Adobe’s podcast enhancer for the sound mix. Would I do it differently with more time and resources? For sure. But I’m proud of what came out—and thankful to God for the healing that made it possible. Praying for anyone navigating the hard stuff this Father’s Day. You’re not alone. And a massive shoutout to my two collaborators on this, my wife Amanda and David Carstens whose beautiful cinematography and color grading is on display!

So proud of this powerful story of sports, teamwork, brotherhood, and overcoming the odds. Coaching the worst team in the world to their first ever win is the ultimate underdog story. Can’t wait till this is streaming!
