I wanted to touch on something that came up on my chronic illness page yesterday. I shared a weekly roundup of my makeup looks, and was met with an unsolicited comment about how my top lip needs waxing.
I’ve never had that sort of negativity on this page, and I’m grateful for that. You see, I have PCOS and I’m perimenopausal. Hirsutism is a big symptom of my PCOS. Sometimes I feel embarrassed about this. BUT I also don’t think I should feel obligated to conform to societal beauty standards to make other people feel more comfortable.
I have excess facial hair. So what? That doesn’t impact my makeup looks, and I won’t wax just because some twat (another woman in this instance) tells me to.
I’m still beautiful with or without facial hair, regardless of whether I have a medical condition that causes it or not. Glad we cleared that up ✌️

I was so honoured to take part in the wonderful #artandalchemy project hosted by @lea_evangelista 💚
The brief was to base a look on something or someone that is both beautiful and dangerous/ spooky, or perhaps even a bit misunderstood?
I decided to base my look on Medusa, the Gorgon famously depicted in Greek mythology. Medusa has snakes for hair, and one look from her can turn you to stone 🐍🐍🐍

The theme this round was to do a look using the following colours: mouse grey, pink, pastel blue, and a multichrome or duochrome.
To be honest I wasn’t happy with how the photos turned out - I think it looks better in person. But posting them anyway 🤷♀️
