As I turn 26, something feels different.
No more colour pencils and crayons,
no more candies handed to me.
The “future” I used to talk about
now lives in my calendar.
“What do I want to be?”
has quietly become,
“Who am I now?”
Every “next time”
has come and gone.
The “one day” I kept waiting for
has came quietly packaged as "today".
“I’ll do it when I grow up”
was a promise i made to myself
But the only part I’ve kept
was growing older.
I’ve become the person
my younger self
once pushed all her hopes
and heavy responsibilities onto.
as I turn 26, the world feels different
not because it has changed,
but because I finally started moving.
So I thank the past me
for surviving long enough to see this moment,
and I look toward my future
to learn who I’ll become next.

But anyways, it was fun finally going out and touching grass. Im glad that in the recent few months, I have been slowly working my fitness back up. Or i probably would struggle with walking this trail.
