The closeup shots of Yellow (Colias) butterfly πŸ¦‹ πŸ‘€ You can see the individual scales on the wings, the thousands of tiny lenses in its eye. That dark spot in the center of the eye is a pseudopupil. It isn't a real pupil like ours. Because insect eyes are made of thousands of tiny tubes, the dark spot is simply where you are looking straight down into them. It makes it look like the butterfly is staring at you! Butterfly wings aren't smooth. They are covered in tiny scales and hairs. The hair-like bits help keep the butterfly warm, while the flat scales provide the bright colors and patterns. ✨ Follow for more ✨ Camera and equipment: πŸ“· Samsung galaxy s24 πŸ” 4x and 5x macro lens βš™οΈ f2.4. 1/120s ISO 80 πŸ’‘ Led light + diffuser 🧩 38, 27, 24 shots stacked (helicon focus) I didn't use a giant, expensive camera to capture this. Huge congrats to @emakaero βœ¨πŸ† for this incredible find! Beautiful capture πŸ‘ SATURDAY FEATURED πŸ† Take time to visit the beautiful gallery of this highly talented photographer to give some love and support.πŸ’Œ This is a Nut/Acorn weevil. that long, elegantly curved snout isn't just for show. It is a masterpiece of evolutionary engineering. To us, it looks like a delicate needle, but to her, it is a combination of a high-tech drill and a straw. At the very tip of that long probe are tiny, incredibly sharp jaws. Once the hole is deep enough, she does something extraordinary. She turns around and lays a single egg safely inside the heart of the nut. By doing this, she ensures her future baby will hatch inside a literal fortress made of food, perfectly protected from the elements and predators. ✨ EYES ON BUGS ✨ Follow @eyesonbugs and post your images and videos using #eyesonbugs or tag us for a chance to be featured next SATURDAY πŸ†πŸ† Happy Weekend 🎊 β€’ β€’ β€’ #weevil #MacroPhotography #Wildlife #Insects

A beautiful photo by @eyesonbugs Thank you for sharing. Be sure to extend your support by visiting this beautiful gallery and photographer. Dragonflies possess massive compound eyes made up of nearly 30,000 individual lenses called ommatidia, which grant them a nearly 360-degree field of vision. These extraordinary eyes allow them to detect the slightest movements and perceive colors beyond human capability, making them some of the most efficient aerial predators on the planet. The sun was just beginning to peek over my garden this morning while I was out searching for subjects. I spotted this fly, but it was already quite active in the early light. Just as I thought I’d lost the shot, it flew over and landed right on my helping hand clip! I quickly adjusted my custom mobile setup and captured a series of stack shots to get this level of detail. I was out searching for bugs and after a bit of a dry spell, I started investigating the underside of some old logs. There were so many Woodlouses. their subtle tones and curved surfaces can be tricky to light without harsh reflections. The depth achieved in this stack brings out a level of personality you just don't see with the naked eye. Seeing the fine hairs on the antennae and the intricate patterns on the face is amazing 🀩 ✨ Follow for more ✨ Camera and equipment: πŸ“· Samsung galaxy s24 πŸ” 4x macro lens βš™οΈf2.4. 1/120s ISO 200 🧩 21 shots stacked (helicon focus) Comment "Setup" if you want to buy my custom mobile macro setup. . . #woodlouses #bug #Insects #MacroPhotography #mobilephotography

Which season is your favorite for exploring? I love monsoon β›ˆοΈ Many species of insects, spider emerge specifically during this time to breed or feed. I was out for a walk when I spotted this dragonfly, weighed down by the morning dew. It didn't moveβ€”just sat there, perfectly still, letting the droplets bead on its eyes like tiny glass spheres. I dialed in the focus, stacked the shots, and captured a moment of absolute stillness in the middle of the rainy season. β›ˆοΈ πŸ”— Check out my profile for more amazing results. πŸ’¬ Comment "RIG" or DM me for pricing and information on how to get your own custom setup!
