One of the highlights of our 3ish 1/2 week road trip around, through, and zig zagging France. 🚐 Best part about having a camper is waking up so close to places like these. I also forgot my SD cards in the van from dropping footage the night before and didn’t realize until we got to location. I was thankful I didn’t have to travel too far back to go get them. 😂
Facts I didn’t know until recently:
-Mont St. Michel consists of leucogranite which solidified from an underground intrusion of molten magma about 525 million years ago
-It periodically floods which gives it the illusion it’s floating
-It’s surrounded by quicksand 😱
-There isn’t a castle atop a village but a unique medieval abbey

Socotra feels less like a real place and more like someone accidentally dropped an alien planet into the middle of the Arabian Sea. 🎨🇾🇪
It’s easily one of the wildest landscapes I’ve ever seen… where giant white sand dunes meet turquoise water so clear it doesn’t even look real.
Fun fact: because Socotra was isolated from the rest of the world for millions of years, over a third of its plant life exists nowhere else on Earth. Some of the trees literally look upside down or like giant mushrooms from another planet. 🌍👽
Honestly, this place made me feel like a kid again. Just constantly confused, amazed, and saying “there’s no way this is real” every five minutes.

The road was sketchy getting there. Muddy with loads of pot holes—we had to get out and fill them with rocks multiple times. You guys were devastated by the 5 days no shower comment when I posted this over on TT 😂. C’mon guys… ever been on a week long backpacking trip? Because you’d know the only shower you’re getting is an alpine lake bath if you’re lucky. But also, when living in a truck camper, there are items like full body shower wipes, and alternative ways to bathe that aren’t a traditional shower! Although, the comments gave me a good chuckle, I hope this info sheds some light. 😂
