(via @fox10news ) — According to reports, 22-year-old Jamayah Thompson and 21-year-old Horace Davis stole multiple TVs, clothes and other merchandise worth around $1,000 from a Walmart in Saraland before leading Saraland PD and Mobile PD on a high-speed chase in a U-Haul. Investigators say the situation escalated into a robbery after one of the suspects allegedly showed a gun during the incident.
Saraland Police Chief Bryson McDaniel told FOX10, officers quickly located the suspects in the U-Haul before the chase ended near Airport Blvd and Huntleigh Way after Mobile police used spike strips to stop the vehicle. Video from the scene showed both suspects attempting to run on foot before being taken into custody. Authorities say there were no reported injuries or property damage connected to the pursuit.
Thompson is charged with second-degree robbery, resisting arrest and attempt to elude. Davis faces charges including first-degree robbery, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and pistol possession by a prohibited person.
“To individuals that want to come to Saraland and commit a crime just know you will be caught, you will be charged and you will be arrested,” Chief McDaniel said.
