FEMME FEVER DREAM
acrylic, marker, sequins
I finished this guy last summer but wasn’t happy with its state of done-ness and so put off documenting it. I’ll probably always wanna hold it a little longer and chip away at it some more, but it’s close to my heart so I feel like I should share it on here. Birthed from a long period of yearning, isolation and grief, the kind that makes you dream of something better so often it’s like you can touch it. Those fantasies that slip through our fingers like sand, forever out of reach, that we can always see in our mind’s eye.

I’ll be slanging some of these prints on Saturday at the Midway Triangle Building for the Saint Paul Art Crawl! Stop by and see all the goings on 💘 12-8PM!
I’ve felt weird for a while about posting older work but then I remembered art doesn’t have an expiration date and I’m probably the only one who cares about that 🤔 here’s a lil retro inspired lady from a few years back

FEMME TOPS
2019
watercolor and confetti
with this series I wanted to celebrate the ways contemporary queers have moved from some of the historically covert signaling of identity (necessary to protect jobs, safety, and security in heterosexual society) to more overt and bold displays of queerness, like the femme top manicure. why sacrifice fashion for function when you can choose both?
also would like to shoutout @sam.rickner_photo for beautifully documenting my work. Thank you Sam! 💓

tell me that you love me (and keep going!) Oil and acrylic
Made this big boy for my group exhibition, i love how you love me, at @boneshakerbooks in April 2018. The show addressed romantic perception from queer vantage points.
Was thinking a lot about emotional reciprocity and the unspoken love language of indulging together.
