2024 - what a year! Long caption so hang in there 😅 The truth: dating intentionally whilst wedding planning is HARD especially when you don’t live near each other, incredibly busy schedules, & saving money for said wedding(s) and marriage after. We both found it very hard to navigate from time to time but thankfully with sound & wise community continuing to remind us of the importance, and additionally our experience with how much it filled us up when we prioritized us (extravagantly and minimally) - we overcame (+ overcoming) the woes of it all. Extravadates took a bit of a back seat as we’ve been navigating this busy season, rightfully so, but we’re hoping to come back & better next year. In the meantime, we did have some amazing dates, date days, & date weekends we wanted to highlight as you plan your 2025!

✨ New Restaurants we enjoyed + recommend: Mad Chef in Ellicott City, The Bazaar by José Andrés, D’Lena DC & Grazie Nonna. 🥘 our old faithful restaurants also saw us: Dok Khao & Clavel!
✨ Local Spots we explored: Georgetown DC, Historic Ellicott City, Mount Airy & Downtown Annapolis 🌆
✨ Miami saw us this year & we enjoyed its colorful art scene! 🎨 enjoyed our stay at the Edition residences. 🏙️
✨ We celebrated a year engaged, took our engagement shoot photos, & had our incredible wedding party proposal 💍
✨ Desserts we loved: Roggenart’s Bread Pudding (100/100), Ice-Creem Jubliee in Georgetown (10/10), & Jenni’s Ice-cream in Philly (10/10). 🍦
✨and of course, we spent so much time with our loved ones & we did a-lot of serving together in Church which will always be the icing on the cake 🤍

The enemy comes to steal, kill, & destroy — and he definitely could have with our joy of dating each other but we bind & cast allllll of that and by His grace we’re still standing, dating, & loving. We hosted our new friends to an amazing time in D.C for the weekend and here’s what we did together!
1️⃣ Dinner at Ben’s Chili Bowl | D.C. staple, 8/10 and inexpensive
2️⃣ Chit Chat at Washington Monument | also a nice place to host a day time picnic
3️⃣ Game Night | y’all not stacking +4s with +2s right???? 👀
4️⃣ Dinner @swahili_village_dc | 10/10 — the wings do it for me every time!!
5️⃣ Karaoke @livekkaraoke | inexpensive small rooms that create intimacy and allow you to sing your little hearts out
6️⃣ Brunch @theparkat14th | pre-paid bottomless food & mimosas with DJ will do it every time 1000/10. 2 hours time limit but truly more than enough time to get the job done 😂
7️⃣ Dinner @lardentedc | their food is heavenly and the ambiance is welcoming, 10/10, lasagna is chef’s kiss!

One thing about us we’re going to maximize any time we get to work but also decompress with a quick weekend getaway! 🤗 This getaway featured our amazing stay @moxyhotels . Their eclectic atmosphere featured drink tokens upon arrival, games, and beautiful views of the city.

🗽 New York is easily one of our favorite weekend staycation destinations away from the DMV. We celebrated Darin’s birthday there this year & here’s what we did:
+ Stayed at the beautiful @1hotel.bklynbridge in BK 🌱
+ Experienced tasty dinner and breakfast at The Osprey (we didn’t make it to their rooftop called the Harriet — but heard so many good reviews) 🧇
+ Enjoyed a relaxing spa experience at TheBamfordSpa in 1hotel 🧖🏾♀️🧖🏾
+ Got matching permanent bracelets @adinaeden_ (great and fun adventure 🤩)
+ Ate dinner @lagosnyc (good food, great music, drinks were bomb — overall 10/10… we’re still thinking about the Suya tacos to this day!!!) 🌮
+ Had adventure time at the at the Summit One Vanderbilt with several interactive floors & @olfactorynyc where we made our own perfumes 🙌🏾

📍Next stop… ATL for a mini-getaway weekend 📍
Our time here was quite short due to a work conference, but we sure did make the most of it with the help of the ATL City Pass we purchased for $89pp (A STEAL!!). Using the pass, we visited 4/5 allotted attractions including: @georgiaaquarium 🐬, @cocacola Factory🥤, @zooatl 🐘, & @ctr4chr 🖤
We also had some good eats from the Atlanta Fish House and Grill (ordered on #doordash), @_breakfastatbarneys 😋, & @rocksteadyatlanta - a solid Caribbean spot with tasty food, drinks, & DJ 🎵
Some other attractions we would have loved to enjoy if we had more time include visiting the CNN tower, Trap Museum, Botanical Garden, Ponce City Market, & Martin Luther King National Historical Park/House!
