What Extratrail is, in a nutshell👇
🏃🏻 800km of marked trails: the largest network of marked and permanent trail routes in Northwestern Europe
🎯 Our mission: to enable trail running through unique routes and showcase our beautiful region
📍 Our difference: an interconnected network of routes spread across 7 Belgian municipalities: Spa - Jalhay - Malmedy - Trois-Ponts - Stavelot - Stoumont - Theux
👋 For all levels: 4 loop trails of varying difficulties/distances (🟢🔵🔴⚫️) in each municipality, an ultra trail of 157km connecting all municipalities, and a vertical track (265m D+ in 1.2km)
✅ Specific signage: our trails are carefully marked with specific signs easily identifiable in nature
📱 A connected experience: share your accomplishments with the community on social media (Instagram and Facebook). You can also download the routes from our website.
👫 A network managed by a team of 11 volunteers passionate about trail running, outdoor sports, and nature

Les parcours Extratrail révèlent souvent des petits trésors insoupçonnés. Parfois, en s'écartant de quelques mètres de la trace, on accède à des endroits juste incroyables.
Sur les derniers kilomètres des tracés rouge et noir de Spa, on traverse le Domaine de Bérinzenne, en plein coeur du @leparcnatureldessources . Ce plateau fagnard situé à 570 mètres d'altitude est dominé par une tour d'observation en bois de 22 mètres de haut. Un panorama à 360° à couper le souffle...

Bienvenue sur l'extratrail de Malmedy !
Pour réaliser cette randonnée, c'est simple : pas besoin de carte, le balisage est très bien fait ! Il vous faut suivre le balisage bleu.
Pour ceux qui veulent se challenger, vous avez également un parcours de 27 et 39 km.
Vous trouvez toutes les informations relatives à ces marches au pied de l'église de Malmedy (parait qu'elle vaut le détour en plus).

Below is a reminder of the procedure for checking the accessibility of EXTRATRAIL routes during the hunting season via the official SPW Wallonia website (www.chasseonweb.be).
A tutorial video is available to guide you visually. The data on www.chasseonweb.be is updated regularly by the relevant authorities.
Be sure to check the status of your chosen route at least the day before your run.
⚠️ Only the signs on the ground are official. ⚠️
For your safety, please respect the signage in the forest.
🟡 Yellow sign = information
🔴 Red sign = prohibition
📌 Procedure for checking hunting dates
1. Log on to the Extratrail website .
2. Select a municipality.
3. Choose one of the routes.
4. Download the GPX file for the route you wish to take to your computer or smartphone.
5. Then log on to the website www.chasseonweb.be
6. Tick the box ‘I understand’ and click ‘OK’.
7. Click on the 4th icon at the top right ‘Add your data’.
8. Click on ‘+’ to ‘Add data’.
9. Select the ‘Files’ tab in the window that opens.
10. Drag and drop the previously downloaded GPX file into the window or select this file via your computer or smartphone interface.
11. Click on ‘Finish’. The imported area will automatically zoom in.
12. A ‘points’ and ‘line’ track will then be visible (you can display the one you prefer or both. However, the ‘points’ file will be more readable on the map).
13. Click on the first icon at the top right, ‘Search by date’.
14. Select the desired date and repeat the operation for other dates, if necessary.
15. The hatched area that appears corresponds to hunting information. A legend is available by clicking on the second icon.
16. If the route is tangent to the hunting ground, the route must be considered closed for safety reasons.
⚠️ Notes:
- If several different GPX files are imported simultaneously, they will all appear in the same colour on screen (orange by default). If the routes overlap or are geographically close to each other, this may make the map less readable.
- The black route in Jalhay and the UTDS route are closed annually from 15 September to 31 December.
𝐋𝐄 𝐃𝐄́𝐅𝐈 𝐃𝐄 𝐋𝐀 𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄 👉 Valéry Bertand a bouclé consécutivement les 7 parcours noirs Extratrail, les superbes sentiers de trail balisés de façon permanente à l'est de la Belgique 🇧🇪
✅ 255 km et 7.650 mètres de dénivelé positif
✅ Défi entamé le jeudi 19 juin à 9 heures sur le parcours de Trois-Ponts
✅ Défi clôturé le samedi 21 juin à 22 heures sur le parcours de Stavelot
Au total, le traileur de Trois-Ponts aura mis 61 heures pour boucler les 7 traces noires Extratrail, ne dormant que 30 minutes dans la nuit de jeudi à vendredi et 1h15 dans celle de vendredi à samedi 😳
Son prochain défi? Le SwissPeaks 700 fin août 😎

Marathon de Franchimont | May 10th - Theux 🏰
On May 10th, the Marathon de Franchimont will take place in the emblematic medieval castle, just a stone's throw from Theux Extratrail routes.
A 42km or 21km race to be run solo or in a team, with 3km loops and 140 metres of elevation gain.
📈 A 100% nature track, that will put your legs to the test
🌞 In a unique setting
🎉 A friendly atmosphere
🤝 Suitable for all levels
