After seeing so many heartbreaking images of the dreaded frost damage across English vineyards yesterday, there’s never been a more important time to support the incredible producers on the @WealdenWineTrail .
While most of us are asleep, many vineyards are out at 2am such as Paul @wildwoodvineyard battling through the night to protect this year’s harvest. It’s hard work, huge expense, and often heartbreaking how nature can be so unpredictable.
So now more than ever, you can support your local vineyard by...
🍾Buying their wines
🚲Visiting their cellar doors
👫Attending their events
🗣️Sharing your experiences
📣Telling your friends
📍Planning a vineyard visit (see link in bio)
Every bottle bought, every visit booked, every recommendation shared genuinely makes a difference.
Let’s show our support for the people behind English wine and the vineyards that make our region so special. 🍇

Travel back over 600 years at Herstmonceux Castle’s Medieval Heritage Weekend ⚔️
Throughout the May Bank Holiday, the 15th century will be brought to life through knights fighting in combat, skilled artisans practicing their crafts and activities set up in the array of medieval camps.
All taking place on historic soil – originally built in 1441 by Sir Roger Fiennes, Treasurer of the Household to Henry VI, it seems only fitting to celebrate our medieval past against the backdrop of the grand Herstmonceux Castle.
Make merriment in Wealden this weekend – tickets available through their website ✨

Combine your annual bluebell walk with a (mostly) secret garden 🌷
Running since 1972, the Arlington Bluebell Walk at Beatons Wood is a local favourite. Open daily throughout the bluebell season, with proceeds supporting over 20 charities, it’s a must do day out at this time of year.
But did you know that next to Beatons Wood, part of the Bates Green estate, is the beautiful Bates Green Garden 🌿🪴
Planted by the late Carolyn McCutchan from 1968 – who lived in the farmhouse with her husband, John, organiser of the Bluebell Walk – this naturalistic garden is filled with native wildflowers and potted plants, unique ferns and ancient oaks.
Even with Beatons Wood at its busiest, the garden is a peaceful corner to unwind and take in one natural beauty after another.
Tickets are just £10 for adults (£5 for children), or become a Friend for year round entry to both the Garden and the Bluebell Walk.

A firm Uckfield favourite, they’re also right at the heart of the community. Alongside locally sourced products and a dog‑friendly environment, they run free weekly community walks to bring locals together and promote wellbeing.
