We came together yesterday to celebrate Flint’s very own Trey McKenney ( @treymckenney )on Trey Day, honoring his incredible freshman season, national championship win, and the journey that started right here in Flint.
The program featured remarks from local leaders and notable figures, including Mayor Sheldon Neeley, Chancellor Laurence B. Alexander, Amari Steward, Mateen Cleaves, and more each speaking to Trey’s impact on and off the court.
Guests had the chance to meet Trey, take photos, and be part of a moment that felt bigger than basketball. With free commemorative T-shirts and a room full of hometown pride, the energy was unmatched.
Trey Day was bigger than basketball, it was about legacy, inspiration, and showing the next generation what’s possible right here in Flint.
