Waking up at sunrise, the only one of the crew to go to bed at a decent time the night before, Mat got to experience one of the most magical alpine sunrises.
A true of and pillar of the community, drone pilot extraordinaire, and the one who got the NOTAM approved on time. A great pack donkey who’s always eager to explore what’s possible, encourage his friends and push what’s possible.
So stoked it all worked out to give us a chance to experience this magic.

2/3 Nighttime magic
You never know what conditions will be on alpine missions.Weather, Timing and stoke generally guide when something goes down. That’s why it’s so much sweeter when the hard work yields such magical moments in the sky 🌌
Prior to coming back from a nighttime cold dip courtesy of some remnant snow and a deep enough alpine tarn, I questioned whether or not an evening coffee and a nighttime session was going to happen. back at camp, we realized the dusty haze on the horizon was actually the aurora. I took one look at @geralds.moves and knew I better get the stove fired up for a late night brew.
2 hours later the second session came to an end, no whips, still terrified, exposure sequences and shoulder stands in a void of darkness.
As an athlete in the mountains, the magical moments aren’t the easy ones. The landscape defines itself, it’s up to us to be ready for it.

The Naked Fainting Goat

A journey with friends.
At the end of a 36 hour blitz, all that’s left is memories and pictures.
Steep slopes, scrambling, and alpine tarn bathing. This was a trip for the books.
It all started last year after scouting a prominent knife edge ridgeline. Getting up ‘close enough’ we knew a high line could manifest itself there.
A year later equipped with 60 pound bags, and a whole lot of faith we started our approach. Unsure what exactly we would find waiting for us at the top.
Rigged just before sunset, I had the privledge of getting the first session.
Bathing in the glow of the sun as I experienced the onsite and the vast mountain landscape.
One of the most terrifying lines to date, the trad anchors and intense exposure made for a much more emotional walk than normal.
So stoked to have gotten to share these moments floating with this crew.
