The KAY Chair is nominated for the Best Design Award! Inspired by our Welcome Stool, Tokyo-based product designer Masaru Kiyota conceived this four-part wooden piece, held together by only four screws. Its odd forms come flat-packed, assembled by you into a well-proportioned chair that exudes elegance and exists seamlessly within your space. The KAY Chair is a testament to how unconventional design approaches can create functionally optimized furniture. We stand humbled and deeply grateful to be considered for this prestigious title. This moment spotlights the human touch and meticulous care poured into this product together with the journey we’ve shared. Thank you to the @goldenpindesign committee, to the KAY Chair’s designer @masarukiyota , and to the community of makers, we are honored to stand alongside and share the same passion for good design. The KAY Chair is available in a distinguished palette of stains by Exploratory Projects on our website: /

In developing a distinctly grey shade exclusive to our friends at Silverlens Gallery, we explored a coloring technique new to our product line: paint washing. It uses water-based paint to add color while still allowing the natural wood grain to show through. Our Shelving System and Welcome Stool, finished in this Silverlens-exclusive grey, can be found in their new cafe and retail space, the Den. @silverlensgallery @silverlensden
