Explora Conservation on Instagram was created to deepen the way we share our commitment to sustainability. Today, that journey evolves.
We bring everything back together, as exploration and conservation have always been part of the same path.
Starting in June, our journey continues at @exploratravel , where you can follow our conservation work, wildlife, and sustainability initiatives.
Our journey is driven by a purpose: to inspire conservation through in-depth exploration. By immersing ourselves in these extraordinary landscapes, we gain profound understanding, leading to stronger connections. This continuous cycle of exploration and learning leads to action through our Conservation Reserves, B Corp certification, and collaborations with local and scientific communities.
In this effort, we seek to create a future where exploration and conservation are intertwined, ecosystems thrive, and future generations inherit a protected world.
Our goal is not just to go far, but to go deeper. Always.

Our Conservation Reserves are a key part of our commitment to preserving some of the most remote and vital territories on Earth.
These first two reserves mark the beginning of an ambitious journey—one that aspires to establish a new, global benchmark for sustainable conservation and protect one million hectares worldwide. Each reserve is not just a space of protection, but a sanctuary where science, technology, and innovation intertwine to secure the future of our planet.
In this effort, we aim to nurture a future where nature flourishes, ecosystems thrive, and generations to come inherit a world safeguarded by the very tools we are shaping today.

In a place as vast as the Earth, every place tells a story.
To travel is not only to see, but to connect, to care and to preserve what makes this planet worth exploring.

Our presence in Jirira would not be possible without the people who call this place home. Collaboration with the community is essential to everything we do, as their knowledge, traditions, and way of life are woven into every moment.
Thanks to this shared heritage, travelers connect more deeply with Uyuni, its vastness, its culture, and the living Andean traditions that define this extraordinary place.

Effective conservation begins with the people on the ground. That’s why preparing park rangers is central to our commitment: providing tools, strengthening capabilities, and fostering continuous learning to meet the challenges of protected areas.
Last week, at our Conservation Reserve in Torres del Paine, we held a workshop on Public Use in Protected Areas and its Planning together with Jim Barborak (Colorado State University), who led the group’s training, sharing his international experience and expertise.
Teams from our Torres del Paine and Puritama reserves participated, along with representatives from Pew Charitable Trusts, CONAF, SBAP, and Universidad Austral de Chile.
A space for collaboration among those on the front lines of conservation.
Because protecting a territory also means preparing those who care for it.
On World Glacier Day, we pause to contemplate their majesty. To witness them thriving alongside forests and steppes is to understand nature’s purest cycle: they are our greatest freshwater reserves, the guardians of climate balance.
Protecting them is, in essence, protecting the source of life and the future of water.

International Day of Forests is approaching, but every day is the perfect day to honor the beating heart of Patagonia.
These ancient woodlands form a vital network of interdependence. Here, the drumming of the Magellanic Woodpecker sets the pace for an ecosystem that sustains unique species such as the Huemul deer, Thorn-tailed Rayadito, Geoffroy’s cat and many others.
Protecting these forests means safeguarding a sanctuary for biodiversity that knows no borders.

With an afforestation initiative in the Mantanay Conservation Area, in the high Andes of the Sacred Valley, native queuñas are being planted across high-altitude watersheds.
Together with the communities of Yanahuara and Willoc and the Explora Valle Sagrado team, these trees are established near natural water sources. In these eco-Andean systems, queuñas help retain moisture and slow the flow of water across the puna, playing a key role in protecting biodiversity and supporting water cycles as glaciers recede. A way to give back to the territory and further balance our footprint in the places we explore.

Rainwater collected on site becomes part of daily operations at Explora Rapa Nui.
Captured through dedicated infrastructure, this water is used to wash vehicles with pressure washers powered in part by solar panels. A simple system that reduces both water and energy consumption.

Wildlife gives meaning to the landscapes we explore.
From the smallest endemic species to wide-ranging predators, each sustains the delicate balance of fragile ecosystems. Protecting wild places means safeguarding the conditions that allow life to persist, adapt, and move freely across territory.
On World Wildlife Day, we recognize conservation as a long-term commitment: to habitat, biodiversity, and the quiet continuity of the natural world.
