The White-Chavez family, who own and operate the mobile petting zoo Experience Fable, had to corral dozens of their farm animals as quickly as they could when the devastating fire broke out on Jan. 7.

A beloved family-owned petting farm that lost its home in the Eaton Fire has returned to Altadena.
The White-Chavez family says they were able to save all their animals, but their home and farm burned down. For months, they traveled back and forth to San Diego, where the animals found temporary refuge.
Now, the family is reopening their partially rebuilt farm for free “Community Healing Days” starting this week; inviting neighbors to reconnect and recover together.

Our friends have two distinct modes: Sleep Mode and Gossip Mode. A question we often receive about these beauties is, “How did you make their hair like that?” Cresteds have a genetic mutation that disrupts the development of their skulls during embryonic growth. The result is the little puffs on their heads that are present when they hatch! 🦆
