Capturing light as an imbuement of feeling is my passion as a photographer, especially in spaces whose core function is emotion. This image is an example of that. At once grounded and refined, Northcote Residence is a study in balance — where materiality and light compose an atmosphere of calm sophistication.
From the Made by Storey Clay floors — soft yet structured in their light, sandy hue — to the expressive Calacatta Viola marble and rich walnut joinery, every surface hums in quiet harmony.
For this shoot, we embraced the home’s natural rhythms — planning each capture around the shifting light of day to echo its moody, luxurious sensibility. The result is a visual narrative that honours both the architecture and the emotive depth of the materials themselves.

Shooting design showrooms is to translate selection into experience by capturing how materials are considered, compared, and ultimately brought together. A visual language that speaks not only to product, but to process, precision, and the design thinking behind it.
This was our aim with shooting @made_by_block ’s recently launched showroom inside @surfacegalleryaustralia Brisbane. Stone, timber, and light are presented as a curated library rather than fixed elements. Timber by Made by Block reveals itself in sample form: tactile, intentional, inviting a closer reading of grain, tone, and finish. Surrounding stone and sculptural lighting displays build a layered material narrative, where texture and reflection quietly shift throughout the space.

My utter favourite structures to shoot are those from Ancient Greece: a nod to my two greatest passions being my culture and design.
What fascinates me the most is the level of artistic detail found in all ancient buildings and relics. The time it would have taken my ancestors to execute to this level of precision to me is the ultimate form of design 🤍
The quiet allure of Manna Arcadia. Tucked within the pine-draped mountains of Arcadia, Manna unfolds as a tranquil haven where the Peloponnesian soul meets a gentle, contemporary grace.
Once an early 20th-century sanatorium, now thoughtfully restored, the space carries contemplative depth. Stone, timber, and clean, restrained lines weave together—an architectural dialogue between memory and modernity.

Being able to feel a place simply by looking at photos of it is a powerful translation of physical essence. That pursuit is what drives me most as a photographer. I’m drawn to the layered textures and details that carry atmosphere.
Take Manna Arcadia, for example, whose essence is deeply rooted in a direct connection with the wild Arcadian forests that surround it. With my design background at the forefront, I’m able to capture the tactile qualities of this experience: the organic material palette of Greek mountain stone and timber, the texture of the Greek fir trees, the feeling of mountain air as you pause beside the fire pit.

It’s always an honour to capture clients hand crafted pieces, such as this artisanal vase by @thefoundry.house 🤍 A sculptural centrepiece that anchors the room with quiet drama, the Impressus vase in Citrinus draws the eye with its hand-carved ridges and molten glaze. Paired with richly veined stone and soft timber tones, it brings a fluid, tactile contrast to this luxury kitchen.
