Dane’e Cato, Jahmarley Jones, and Trevor Lucas were convicted of conspiracy in 2016 for their alleged participation in a plan to kill rival gang members in Queens, New York. Lucas was exonerated in 2018 and Jones and Cato were exonerated in 2019 after one of the detectives involved in their cases pled guilty to perjury and other charges.

On March 31, 1999, Roy Blackman (right, with his brother, Barron) was convicted of murder and other crimes in a shooting in Detroit, Michigan, that killed an 18-year-old man and wounded two others. His convictions and sentence of 42 to 62 years in prison were vacated and the case was dismissed on March 31, 2026, based on evidence that detectives coerced witnesses to falsely identify Blackman as the shooter.
