This week at @continentalclubatx , I had the honor of celebrating a truly special Austin musician, community leader, and District 8 resident. I was proud to present a proclamation recognizing Eve Monsees (@exiledeve ) for her impact on Austin’s music scene and her continued work supporting musicians across our community. From learning guitar in Austin’s local clubs and playing around town alongside artists like her high school classmate Gary Clark Jr., to sharing stages with some of the artists who shaped Texas blues, Eve embodies what makes Austin the Live Music Capital of the World. Her impact continues not only through her music, but through her role as Vice President of @homeaustinorg (H.O.M.E.) and as co-owner of @antonesrecordshop . Hanna Cofer (@hanna.cofer ), Executive Director of @homeaustinorg also joined us to celebrate Eve Monsees Day and the work H.O.M.E. and Eve are doing to support Austin musicians.
