St Brandon's Church @brancepethcastle St Brandon's combines the best of an ancient church building with an elegant modern reordering, including all the facilities that go along with that. There has been a church here since Saxon times. while most of the present building dates from 1075. Within the church there is also the most important collection of medieval cross slabs (carved stones formerly used to cover graves) in northern England. The setting of the church, alongside the impressive Brancepeth Castle, is perfect.

Durham Cathedral (inside) What 3 words coordinate: (dress.list.reward) 📍 Durham Cathedral was built in the late 11th and early 12th centuries to house the relics of St Cuthbert (evangelizer of Northumbria) and the Venerable Bede. It attests to the importance of the early Benedictine monastic community and is the largest and finest example of Norman architecture in England. On this occasion, the cathedral was free the enter to have a look at the amazing architecture. We have more content to come on the cathedral, so keep your eyes peeled, and why not take a visit at this remarkable location.

The Tyne Bridge (and Quayside) - Newcastle. One of seven road bridges crossing the River Tyne, the Grade II* listed bridge was officially opened on 10 October 1928 by King George V and has since become a defining symbol of the North East. Built for the new age of the motorised-vehicle and to cope with increasing traffic crossing the Tyne, the steel and granite bridge was a major engineering feat of the early 20th century. At the time of its construction, the Tyne Bridge was the world’s longest span bridge.
