Volt[age] has been ‘recognized’ at the @internationalcreativeawards — it’s not a podium or a statue, but hey, I can deal with it! Creating what could be the future of humanity vs technology before witnessing our current age of AI, is very striking to me. Humanity pulled the plug, should we do the same? 😅☺️ Produced by the @kunstkraftwerk_leipzig , with the dancers from @musikalischekomoedie

Why is ballet so amazing in an immersive room?

Ballet is still expected to sound purely classical. But today’s audiences didn’t grow up that way anymore. Many of us danced to electronic music long before we ever sat in a theater. New ballet creations have a rare chance to weave that culture into classical scores without losing their musical integrity. I compose ballet music by bridging orchestral writing with electronic sound and structure. If my father can recognize the language, and my young niece can feel it immediately, then the score is doing its job. If ballet expects new audiences, why should it still sound like it’s written for only one generation?

Ballet evolved through time and became so intricate, musical, and athletic. So why does the space around them remain the same? Sensors and real-time projections allow scenography to listen to dancers and music, from the first cue to the final curtain. It's all about enhancing the narrative. The stage stops being a backdrop and becomes a character. With its rigor and precision, ballet is the perfect partner for this kind of dialogue.

Ballet is not outdated. I think the stage is. I see us repeating the past and wondering why new audiences don’t come. I believe ballet needs a contemporary stage language. By merging classical dance with modern scenography, I want to wake up an audience that was never truly invited in.

Demystify technology. Going out of the computer feels good. Fooling around with the title of @tim_rodenbroeker podcast. #modular #modularsynth #technology #monome #monomenorns

While working on Volt[age] I had a precise idea on how I would show the final incarnation of the machine. I wanted an looooong agony. @lol.ita.v improvised it in front of the camera, emphasizing the drifting slowing music. I immediately knew that was it. #newmediaart #audiovisualart #touchdesigner #processing #immersiveart #ballet

Floor + Type experimentation in an immersive room. We do tend to forget the floor, but it could be a hell of a fun. It could be a very playful canvases in an immersive space, turning worlds upside down. #processing #creativecoding #immersive #typography

Depending on the current project, early mornings are either dedicated to music making or to reading sessions. Blurry eyes and foggy mind always clear up with a good tea and a good book. I dived into ‘The Generative Mind - a new approach to creative thinking’ by Patrik Hübner / @patrikhuebner . A very interesting position on generative design and AI in the current state of society. Published and distributed by Niggli.
