Term 4: Soft tailoring
"Die Antithese" draws from the commanding presence of naval military uniforms - symbols of duty, discipline, and guardianship and reimagines them through a lens of rebellion, gender fluidity, and cultural introspection. The collection confronts internal and external conflict, exploring dualities: strength and softness, logic and emotion, tradition and disruption.
Integral to this narrative is the use of indigo-dyed textiles by the H'Mông people, whose ancestral craft embodies both resilience and spirituality. The slow, meditative dyeing process yields a deep, protective blue - a quiet counterbalance to leather's toughness and linen's fragility. In merging global militaristic codes with indigenous handwork, "Die Antithese" finds power in paradox, creating garments that are both armor and memory, both rebellion and reverence.
"Die Antithese" lấy cảm hứng từ quân phục hải quân - biểu tượng của nghĩa vụ, kỷ luật và sự bảo vệ và tái hiện chúng qua lăng kính của sự nổi loạn, tính linh hoạt về giới tính và sự tự vấn về văn hóa. Bộ sưu tập đối mặt với xung đột bên trong và bên ngoài, khám phá tính hai mặt: sức mạnh và sự mềm mỏng, logic và cảm xúc, truyền thống và sự gián đoạn.
