⭐OPEN WORKSHOP SERIES: MONDAY MAY 18TH (HIP HOP/JAZZ)
SUJIN KANG: Continuing from the previous workshop, this session will focus on hip hop fundamentals and isolation techniques, with an emphasis on controlled, coordinated movement. We’ll drill core basics and then learn a choreography that incorporates those concepts in a more dynamic and musical way. This workshop is a chance to build body control, sharpen musicality, and explore rhythm and movement connection while still keeping the class energetic and fun.
KAI WASHINGTON: I'm going to teach a section of my choreo project QUEEN so the song is Q.U.E.E.N by Janelle Monae and it’ll be a jazz fusion workshop.

Natalia Delery is a Chicago-based dancer, choreographer, and UChicago alum originally from Queens, New York. With 20+ years of training across multiple styles, she now specializes in hip hop and heels choreography and has performed at World of Dance, United Center/Chicago Bulls, Chicago Fashion Week, Urbanite, Carnival, and more. She currently dances with the Trup heels team and teaches at Indie Media Studios. Her mission is to teach classes that spark joy, build confidence and inspire community through movement. As a former PhiNix dance crew member (now Ex Crew), she's excited to return to campus and exchange with the next generation of dancers!

As Brandon continues to grow in his own practice, He is excited to share what he has been recently focusing on-- feeling more grounded and connecting more deeply to the music while fully embodying each movement naturally.
This class is an opportunity to explore, grow, and experience movement with intention.

Ex Crew is a competitive choreography group that aims to build a hip-hop presence at UChicago while connecting with the greater Chicgao dance community. They compete regularly at regional competitions like World of Dance, host their annual shows, and they have their upcoming shows at REVIVAL on 4/11 and Where Fun Comes to Dance on 5/10! ✨ Dance Force Elite ✨ is Chicago’s local youth dance program helping kids nurture their passion for performing arts through mentorship and dance. To open up the GENESIS KIKI, their West Side Division will be performing a dance break set.
