Ex Aequa expands and becomes trinational, bringing together Italy, France and Germany, and offering 9 selected artists the opportunity to explore the music ecosystems of Rome, Lyon and Berlin. 💎 The programme is a free training and professional development initiative aimed at artists under 35, with a specific focus on women, FLINTA and underrepresented gender minorities in the music industry. @exaequa – Empowering Equality in Electronic Music was created to address one of the most urgent issues still shaping the contemporary electronic music scene: the gender gap and access to professionalization. Promoted by @springattitudefestival together with @arty.farty.eu , @if_italia and @90mil___ , in collaboration with @equaly__ , the free programme is aimed at artists under 35, with a particular focus on women, FLINTA people and underrepresented gender minorities. After its first edition in 2025, Ex Aequa is expanding into a trinational project, involving Italy, France and Germany through a programme taking place between Rome, Lyon and Berlin. Through technical training, mentoring and opportunities for international visibility, the initiative aims to build concrete tools to make electronic music a less elitist, more accessible space — one that new generations of artists can truly enter, inhabit and shape. We spoke with the project team to explore the vision behind Ex Aequa, its relationship with Spring Attitude, and the need to imagine a more open, plural and shared future for the electronic music scene. Appel aux jeunes artistes de musiques électroniques ! Le programme international @exaequa (Empowering Equality in Electronic Music) lance sa deuxième édition pour accompagner les artistes émergents de la scène électronique. Gratuite, cette initiative s’adresse aux producteurs, productrices et DJs de moins de 35 ans, avec une attention particulière portée aux femmes, aux personnes FLINTA et aux minorités de genre, en France, en Italie et en Allemagne. 9 artistes seront sélectionnés pour ce parcours mêlant formation, mentorat et opportunités de diffusion. Après une première édition en 2025, Ex Aequa confirme son engagement en faveur de l’égalité dans les musiques électroniques, avec notamment la participation de Rebeka Warrior comme marraine, et Rroxymore, FLORE et Whitemary en accompagnement. Le programme est porté par Institut français Italia, Arty Farty, le Spring Attitude Festival et 90MIL, en collaboration avec Equaly. The three students, as well as DJs, Amira, Corinna, and Nima, will perform on Saturday, February 15, at The Hoxton Rome for Spring Attitude Waves w/ Ex Aequa, ahead of DJ and producer @simocellmusic , trainer of the weekend workshop at Palazzo Farnese. @amira.wav Italian artist and producer blending pop, electronic textures, hip-hop grooves, and traditional rhythms. After a decade in the U.S., she launched her solo project in 2024, delivering immersive performances that merge intimate storytelling with bold, genre-defying sounds. @corinna_fm Singer, songwriter, and electronic music producer based between Siena and Milan. With a background in piano and vocals, she explores electronic dance-pop with a strong focus on vocal production. She released Ancestrale (2023) and Linea Di Confine (2024). @nima_wav Sicilian artist, producer, and composer who created Nụhmeyya, a unique language blending Mediterranean phonemes. Il 15 e il 16 novembre si è tenuta la prima tranche di incontri di @exaequa - Empowering Equality in Electronic Music, il progetto dedicato alla professionalizzazione di artist* emergenti italian* e francesi, appartenenti a minoranze di genere sotto rappresentate nella musica elettronica. Le masterclass si sono tenute dapprima a Palazzo Farnese, con il trainer @marco_passarani l’intervento fondamentale in aula di @equaly__ , e poi all’interno dello studio del dj e producer con l’esibizione finale dell* artist* a @spaziofontanella per @rough.radio Il progetto proseguirà a febbraio con un’altra tappa italiana e ad aprile a Lione. È stato bello respirare la bellezza dell’unione internazionale tra anime così diverse, ma con un linguaggio così condiviso. __ On November 15th and 16th, the first series of meetings of @exaequa - Empowering Equality in Electronic Music took place, the project dedicated to the professional development of emerging Italian and French artists belonging to underrepresented gender minorities in electronic music. The masterclasses were initially held at Palazzo Farnese, led by trainer @marco_passarani and featuring the essential classroom contribution of @equaly__ They then continued in the DJ and producer’s studio, culminating in the artists’ final performance at @spaziofontanella for @rough.radio The project will continue in February with another stop in Italy and in April in Lyon. It was beautiful to witness the beauty of international unity between such different souls, but with such a shared language.
