Had an unreal day on Guntersville for the @tnbnks.kayakseries event catching my second biggest tournament limit ever at 108.25” for 5. I only weighed three of the fish which one was just over 7lbs and the other two mid 6’s. I was having too much fun to worry about weights but assume I had two 5’s to push close to that 30lb mark. I historically don’t have a great track record on Guntersville and after a pretty average practice day I hunkered down in the only area I had a couple quality bites and the rest is history. Caught fish on a bunch of different techniques from shallow to about 15’. Never caught so many big fish in one day in my life. I had right around 100” that didn’t count towards my limit! Had a fun week down in the cypress swamps! I personally ended up finishing 13th out of 211 anglers, could’ve been a better week but I simply didn’t capitalize on the opportunities I was given but blessed to salvage the tournament and cut a solid check! More importantly the @cnkayakanglers dominated with a clean sweep on the college side and 3rd, 7th and 17th overall! Although I caught plenty of fish on your typical power fishing techniques for this lake every fish that counted came on a coike on the 7’mh Proteus and 7’m Utan from @littlemiamioutfitters Give @dugoutbaitandtackle a follow to stay updated on their next drop of coikes! @newport_vessels @hobieeyewear

Had an unreal day on Nickajack for the 3rd stop of the @tnbnks.kayakseries I was fortunate enough to catch my first 100” limit of smallmouth! Two of those going over 5lbs and best 5 weighing right at 24lbs. What made the day even more special was catching them all on the newly released @littlemiamioutfitters Yūingu! Spent a lot of time working on prototypes for this rod and I couldn’t be happier with the final product! Huge congrats to the @cnkayakanglers as well as @jimmy_ent_ from @cukayakfishing as 3 of the top 10 and big bass were all college anglers! @newport_vessels @dugoutbaitandtackle @littlemiamioutfitters @hobieeyewear

The Bassmaster Kayak Series Championship is in the books. Ended up 12th/145 to cut a decent check! Day 1 I did exactly what I needed to ending the day with 97” in 3rd place and giving myself a shot at the win. On day 2 the conditions changed drastically and I wasn’t able to make the proper adjustments and ended my day with a mediocre limit. Getting right back to it this weekend as I head to Nickajack for the Tennessee Bass Nation Kayak event! 2nd tournament of the year is in the books and I managed to squeeze into check range! After a practice full of Watts Bar specials (anything but bass) @gabe_fishlock and I decided to spend the tournament on the complete opposite end of the lake. Got a few clues early in the morning and spent my day running as many points as possible with my @newport_vessels nk-300. Caught all of my fish on a prototype jerkbait rod from @littlemiamioutfitters that performed flawlessly. Very excited for the release of this one!

First trip with the @cnkayakanglers since I’ve officially been brought on as a coach. Super tough conditions for Florida dealing with the tail end of a major cold front. Super proud of the guys for keeping their heads down and figuring out those stingy Florida bass. @jacob_berryhill06 won the college division, 7th/242 in the open and @kobimay got 3rd in college. Fortunately with the format I was able to compete in the open and brought home 6th place with a two day total of 175.25” @dugoutbaitandtackle | @newport_vessels | @hobieeyewear | @littlemiamioutfitters

Finished up my season with a 3rd place finish in the @tnbnks.kayakseries State Championship on the “Tennessee Headwaters”. After a few hours of practice on the Holston I quickly determined I didn’t want to deal with the fishing pressure and decided to roll the dice with #pro @riverrat919 and put together an insanely long float on the French Broad River. We covered right at 40 miles of river over two days of competition. My @newport_vessels nk-300 was essential in making this possible. The river still hasn’t made a full recovery since the flooding last fall but burning a spinnerbait on a @littlemiamioutfitters 7’ MH Proteus put enough quality fish in the boat for 3rd. Congrats to the former road dawg @marshall.fishing for taking the win! This past week I got to stand in as coach for the @cnkayakanglers as they competed on Toledo Bend. What was expected to be a normal week of fishing for the guys and I took a turn as we lost one of our fellow competitors and friend Peyton Hughes. I got to compete against Peyton for 3 years and watched him grow as an angler and turn into a fierce competitor and a great leader for his teammates. Every interaction I had with him on and off the water was positive, he will be deeply missed by all of us. After discussing with the team and Steve Owens we decided to cancel the college portion of the tournament. Peyton’s family did encourage us to fish the main event as that’s what he would have wanted. It was a grind of a tournament and I ended up 18th in the event and 4th for AOY. @bluegrasskayakanglers is hosting nationwide benefit tournament for Peyton’s family for the month of October. Headed back to Tennessee from a fun week in New York! Ended up 8th/158 in the one day showdown with 5 for 95.75” winning a 3-way tie breaker with a 20.25” big fish. @newport_vessels nk-300 and the @dugoutbaitandtackle pivot FFS mount were key players this week to cover lots of water searching for isolated groups of smallmouth that weren’t feeling as much pressure. Since day 2 was cancelled due to high winds we found a smaller lake protected from the wind and had a smallmouth/lake trout beat down ending the trip with a good ole fish fry! Next stop is the Susquehanna River to chase a little less northern smallmouth that I understand a lot more. @hobiefishing | @hobieeyewear | @littlemiamioutfitters

Little escape to the salt before getting back to the tournament grind. Got to spend a couple days in some blue water before the wind picked up limiting us to inshore fishing. Got to put the @littlemiamioutfitters 7’m Ūtan a workout pulling sheepshead out of rocks and pilings and it handled them perfectly! Shoutout to my brothers @nolan_minor and @wyatt_minor for letting me experience a week of their lives.

Jumped into three different kayak tournaments on Douglas this weekend and managed come out on top in all three! Always a great time fishing Douglas in @visitjeffersonco_tn but coming home with a little extra pocket makes it that much better!
