Broken Pottery: an electro-Sufi meditation on repair and transcendence. Inspired by kintsugi (the art of mending broken ceramics with gold), this piece reimagines cracks as conduits for spirit and sound. Chants of Hari, Om, and Prem Divani float through glitching electronics, deep bass currents, and ambient atmospheres, part ritual, part electronic journey. Not just music, but a reminder: what shatters can be rebuilt. 🖤 ---> Full release here: evilartform.bandcamp.com/album/broken-pottery #EvilArtForm #ElectroSufi #AnarchoSufi #DesiGoth #Kintsugi #AmbientMusic #TripHop #IDM #ExperimentalElectronic #RitualMusic #HealingThroughSound #DCMusic #UndergroundElectronic #DiasporicFutures

25 years ago today, masked anarchists in DC came to the rescue of people being assaulted by police during a protest. They grabbed two chain-link fence sections and ran towards the police, scaring them away. On April 16, 2000, tens of thousands of people gathered in Washington, DC to mobilize against the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank. I was there that day, it was the first time I tasted tear gas, and for me, the protest was a moment of catharsis. I was barely out of high school and had already been the victim of police brutality on numerous occasions. I had guns drawn on me, been brutalized, and had been sexually assaulted by police. There had been no justice for the things I experienced. I was fed up with exploitation. I had been reading the writings of Bhagat Singh and Emma Goldman. I understood solidarity in that moment. Years later, we are still fighting the same fight. My advice is to be bold, be brave, do not let them divide us, and practice security culture. Photo by Orin Langelle

On October 10, 1990, 15-year-old "Nayirah" appeared before the Congressional Human Rights Caucus. With an emotional account, she claimed that after Iraqi soldiers invaded Kuwait, she witnessed them removing babies from incubators in a Kuwaiti hospital, stealing the equipment, and leaving the infants to die on the floor. The testimony was used extensively by the George H.W. Bush administration to sway American public opinion and Congress in favor of military intervention against Iraq, with President Bush citing the story at least ten times. In 1992, it was revealed by the New York Times that Nayirah was actually the daughter of Saud Nasir al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the United States. The testimony was part of a $12 million public relations campaign conducted by the American firm Hill & Knowlton on behalf of a group called "Citizens for a Free Kuwait". Following the liberation of Kuwait,1991 investigations by human rights groups, including Amnesty International, and reporters concluded that the story was fabricated.
