I am delighted to announce that on 13th May, I will be hosting an evening of in conversation with Evie Wyld, one of my favourite authors of all time!
We will be discussing Evieâs latest book, The Echoes, her writing processes in general, and much more. There will also be the opportunity for audience members to ask Evie their own questions and get their copies signed!
Evie won the Miles Franklin Award and The Stella Prize for fiction in Australia, and is the recipient of The John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, a Betty Trask Award, the European Union Prize, the Jerwood Fiction Prize and the Encore Award. Her novels have been longlisted for the Baileyâs Womenâs Prize for Fiction, the Costa Novel Prize and shortlisted for the IMPAC International Dublin Literary Award, The Sky Arts Breakthrough Award and the James Tait Black Prize. In 2013 she was included in Grantaâs once-a-decade list of Best of Young British Novelists. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.

The Echoes by Evie Wyld tells the story of Max, who never believed in an afterlife until he dies. Now a reluctant ghost, he observes his girlfriend Hannah and begins to notice the parts of her life he never understood. At the same time, Hannah struggles with the secrets she left behind in Australia, and the past keeps resurfacing, threatening the future she hoped to have with Max.

Evie Wyld is the award-winning author of four novels and one graphic novel. She has won the Betty Trask Award, Miles Franklin Award, John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, Encore Award, Jerwood Fiction Prize and the European Union Prize. In 2013 she was included in Grantaâs once-a-decade list of Best of Young British Novelists. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and helps run an independent bookshop in Peckham called Review.
The Echoes was nominated by Openbare Bibliotheek Brugge (Belgium) and published by Vintage.
