Last Friday we locked picture on our short film! What was once I Can’t Ride a Bike is now THE ROOM AT THE END OF THE HALLWAY. A new name for the story it grew into. We can’t wait to share more soon.
Title hand-drawn by @michellemackintosh
Distressed.
A very short film.
A film about PMS/PMDD.
It’s somewhat personal whilst also being largely inspired by the various women who graciously shared with me their experiences of PMDD. This is theirs as much as it is mine.
I was inspired. I was fascinated- by what they said and by my own erratic, wild, unrecognisable behaviour in the two weeks leading up to my period.
My partner asked me how I was feeling the day after a hearty, curled up on the bed kind of cry from the day before and I had forgotten it even happened. I felt fine, I felt happy and calm but was now in this position where I was trying to explain what had happened. What did happen?
In this moment, I had the deepest urge to write and produce this film. To bring this feeling to life. A message I didn’t even realise I needed to explore and share creatively. The fact that our hormones can manoeuvre our minds like this- obsessed with the drama and heartache of it all…
To my crew- thank you. Thank you for trusting and empowering me with my vision!! I have so much more to say about all of you- More on that to come soon ♥️
My directorial debut, et voila - c’est ça!
