METAMORPHOSIS
Ill be sharing one photo per day of this shoot, the shots are too beautiful on their own to cram them into a carousel. I want to really allow them to have their own moments as every shot is spectacular.
Of all the photoshoots I have organised, of all the creative projects I have done - this shot is my absolute favourite. Thank you again to @benjaminfrasermckenzie who has been collaborating with me creatively over this whole process. It’s been magical and I am so excited to share more, and continue to evolve this.

1st runway experience ✨ so fun and will be keen to do it all again next year. Most of my materials are sourced in thrift stores, junk gifted to me from friends or literally trash that I’ve pulled out of the garbage 😂✌️
My goal is to do my own art shows with a full runway, and to get a taste of it last weekend just gave me even more motivation. It’s a slow burner, but I know when I get there it will be all worth the wait.

I’ve been collecting chandelier pieces for years and I’m always finding new ways to upcycle them. I made this head piece for a promo shoot for my upcoming art show ‘Cocoon to Imago’, which will feature a live interpretative dance by @enchanting.energy seen here modelling the piece for me. Additionally, my show will feature a live flute performance by @ghillieflute of DMT Pancake, who did the funnest shoot with us in a tunnel which I’ll share about this week before I sign off for a break.

Officially announcing the postponing of my art show!
Cocoon to Imago will still be this year, just later on. We had a scheduling problem and once that was revealed, I realised I could use some more time with it. I’d rather wait, and deliver a better show than charge through.
Taking a break from social media too! My nervous system is FRIED darlings. Don’t forget me 😭💚🦋 I live for this shit but my body is calling the shots right now.
I have just one more head piece that I made recently to share about, after that I am signing off. So stay tuned for that! I am being dramatic and making a big display of my impending break.

Cocoon to Imago will be about how ideas evolve. How a brief thought, like a tiny seed, can take hold and grow. How my own work has been in development for almost my entire life, with moments of awe and inspiration encountered in a wild variety of places. Like seeing the Dave Chihuly exhibit, drooling over Mugler runways or watching Fantasia as a little kid. In those moments I saw the kind of artist I could be, I just needed to wait until I found my own voice. Over the last few years those tiny visions have transitioned into their final form, the imago. An immersive world with bizarre landscapes and strange creatures.
In the end I decided I did not want to choose between costume design, installation and animation. I love all of them equally, so I chose to blend them all together and create a world of my own.
And at such a pivotal time I of course met @benjaminfrasermckenzie who does the majority of my photos and videos. All of the best photos I post are shot by Ben. He’s a big part of every roll out that I do so thank you again to Ben, who shot these gorgeous photos for me.

What a DELICIOUS weekend with my entire lineup of hybrid creatures harassing the locals in Newcastle town. I am on the fritz currently cause baby it was A LOT but it was so worth it. We had some mild costume dramas, rain and I think the mantis wings may have poked someone in the face so yea lots of lessons learnt 😅💚📢✨🐝💅

Met some lovely people this weekend and finally got to show off my mantis 💚💚💚
Mardi Gras is this weekend! My whole lineup of bugs and dragons is invading Newcastle, and I’m also creating a cosmic garden installation in the laneway at @berniesbarnewcastle
I’m so proud to part of this event, Mardi Gras has a rich history of costume design and hand made splendour which is celebrated all over the world.
Within the context of Australian history, it’s an event that started as a political protest and a march against discrimination. It’s now shifted to be a celebration / party but the core ethos of banding together and displaying resilience in the face of bigotry and hatred remains.
I recently watched some David Attenborough and it struck me, yet again, how fantastically diverse nature is. From worms to spiders, to whales and birds- how normal it is for life forms to simply be different from one another. Imagine a word where they were all the same… the horror!
The themes we’ve been working with for Mardi Gras Newcastle 2026 are all based around natural wonder. Come down and see my cosmic garden installation and giant bugs 💫🐝✨🦋💕✅
