So many actors are sending out self tapes thinking they’ve got it - and what Casting is actually seeing on the other side is a completely different story. Not because of talent. Because nobody ever told you what wasn’t working.

The internet is full of advice about how to “book more roles.” Some of it is useful. Some of it sounds great but doesn’t actually move your career forward. ⏩
One thing I always encourage actors to do is look at the source. IMDB is your friend. 🧾
Is the person giving the advice actively working?
Do they have experience navigating the real audition process?🤹🏻♂️
There’s a big difference between information that sounds good and guidance that actually helps you book. 🎬
Watching content can be entertaining or inspiring, but careers usually shift when actors invest in doing deeper work — refining their craft, getting honest feedback, and working with people who can truly see what’s happening in their auditions. ☕️
This industry isn’t built on shortcuts. It’s built on preparation, self awareness, and consistent growth.🌱
