Unlock your creative potential in this inspiring life drawing session with EVEWRIGHT, Royal Museums Greenwich’s Practitioner in Residence. An acclaimed multidisciplinary artist, EVEWRIGHT’s work champions Black British stories, prompting dialogue about what it means to be Black and British in the UK today.
Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, EVEWRIGHT will guide you through his personal tips and techniques for listening, looking and drawing.
At the end of the class, there will be an opportunity to share your work – and get valuable feedback – in a supportive ‘show and tell’ session. All materials are provided, and all skill levels are welcome. Please note that models will be nude.

A fantastic evening out with Everton Wright - EVEWRIGHT - at his Unbroken show at the National Maritime Museum.
In Unbroken, EVEWRIGHT reimagines the Museum’s naval uniforms alongside a previous sculptural series, £££ Kissi Penny $$$, named in reference to an iron currency used during the trade of enslaved people in West Africa.
He explores the theme of Ocean Justice to create an artwork of potent juxtaposition that exposes the intersection of value, humanity and institutional complicity in the transatlantic trade of enslaved African people.
Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Artist EVEWRIGHT creates a stunning art installation on 16 large banners that spans Ocean Court along with poetry from Ionie Richards. Join us for the opening launch of Unbroken, an Evewright Arts curated, Artists response to the massacre of 133 enslaved African people by the crew of the British slave ship Zong in 1781. The evening will include a sound and visual Storm scape and a Libation ceremony to honour our ancestors. The ceremony will be performed by Dr ‘H’ Patten, MBE, and Peter Badejo MBE., two of the UK’s leading African dance practitioners along with musicians Nii Kwartey-Owoo and Charles James. This unique ritual will contribute to an immersive and moving experience in remembrance to those who lost their lives. An artist talk and Q&A will be hosted by Maritime Museum’s curator Victoria Lane.

Evewright Arts is delighted to lead a five-month residency at the National Maritime Museum exploring the theme of Ocean Justice with a focus on new research, development, shaping dynamic and engaging visitor experiences.
The residency will be an exciting opportunity to research the Royal Museums Greenwich collection and archive to inspire and explore new ideas, practice, create new dialogue and interpretations.
Evewright Arts founders artist EVEWRIGHT and Ionie Richards will both be able to develop their individual practice. EVEWRIGHT, who uses art and a multidisciplinary approach, and Ionie Richards, exploring writing and research, will begin their new residency at The Studio from July to November.
“The unveiling of the reimagined Ocean Court marks an exciting artistic and intellectual chapter within the museum’s ongoing story. For us, the powerful concept of Ocean Justice serves as a profound wellspring for our individual creative explorations, each delving into the intricate and often turbulent relationship between humanity and the vast ocean. This pivotal moment will deeply inform our artistic inquiries into the world around us, with the ever-present narrative of migration at its heart. We bring our distinct histories and perspectives to this space, eager to contribute to a vibrant public dialogue that considers our shared past, navigates our present, and shapes our collective future.”
