Update from me: 1 week ago today we performed my work For Steve at Resolution Festival at The Place Theatre, London. Unfortunately, we experienced severe technical problems with the lighting during our performance that impacted the structure, length and improvisation of the work. As For Steve is improvised, the lights are a constant that contain the work and guide our improvisation. Although what we presented on the night wasn’t what I’d planned or hoped for, and was completely out of our control, I am nothing but proud of our team Maria, Fin and Grahame for carrying on and performing as best we could despite the challenges. We are coming away from this experience even more motivated to share more of For Steve how it could, and should be witnessed. Thank you to everyone who has supported me, supported this work and given space this week. For Steve at Creative Summer 19/08-23/08 Thank you to the creative team I’ve had the pleasure to work with this week. Fin Hewitson, who’s been here from the beginning of this project with me and continues to be an integral part of this process. You’re the best. Grahame Easthope, who joined us on the Sax and added so much to this work! Thank you, it’s been a pleasure. To Maria Giacchetto, for trusting me and joining this work as the second dancer of For Steve, thank you thank you! Thank you to Megan Charlton for drawing us dance this week, it was a joy! A special thank you to my Mentor @theoclinkard for travelling all the way up from Devon to be here. Your advice and guidance is invaluable to this process and I am forever grateful. Thank you to everyone who attended Remembering Touch on Tuesday. It was a pleasure to facilitate the space and observe your beautiful moving.
