Hold Your Own is a performance work safely exploring how we as women take up space. Impacted by experiences, the work is an ode to our former selves, a work of empowerment and a space for female strength and autonomy.

Hold Your Own
Take up space, wherever strength is found
Find strength in stillness
Feel powerful, Be individual. Be a tribe of women.
Make your teenage self proud, stand tall
Roll back the shoulders, donât hide your chest.
Donât.
Say no. Say yes to things you want
Know the things you want and grab them
Be wholly you
Be bold
Be certain
Say no, and let it be known
Januaryâs been a big olâ month of dancing!

Update from me:
1 week ago today we performed my work For Steve at Resolution Festival at The Place Theatre, London.
Unfortunately, we experienced severe technical problems with the lighting during our performance that impacted the structure, length and improvisation of the work.
As For Steve is improvised, the lights are a constant that contain the work and guide our improvisation.
Although what we presented on the night wasnât what Iâd planned or hoped for, and was completely out of our control, I am nothing but proud of our team Maria, Fin and Grahame for carrying on and performing as best we could despite the challenges. We are coming away from this experience even more motivated to share more of For Steve how it could, and should be witnessed.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, supported this work and given space this week.
Since our performance, For Steve has received two reviews which you can read here: .uk/blogs-stories/thu-16-jan
More of For Steve to come in the future âď¸
16th January 7:30pm at The Place Theatre, London!
Weâll be performing For Steve at Resolution Festival next month - tickets linked in bio !!!
Super excited to perform this work again, and see where it can go. Exciting things coming âď¸

For Steve at Creative Summer 19/08-23/08
Thank you to the creative team Iâve had the pleasure to work with this week.
Fin Hewitson, whoâs been here from the beginning of this project with me and continues to be an integral part of this process. Youâre the best. Grahame Easthope, who joined us on the Sax and added so much to this work! Thank you, itâs been a pleasure. To Maria Giacchetto, for trusting me and joining this work as the second dancer of For Steve, thank you thank you! Thank you to Megan Charlton for drawing us dance this week, it was a joy!
A special thank you to my Mentor @theoclinkard for travelling all the way up from Devon to be here. Your advice and guidance is invaluable to this process and I am forever grateful.
Thank you to everyone who attended Remembering Touch on Tuesday. It was a pleasure to facilitate the space and observe your beautiful moving.
Thank you to @dance_city_newcastle for the space and everyone who attended the sharing this afternoon.
See you at Dance Edits 2nd October at Dance City where For Steve will be presented alongside other new work in the North East â¨
