YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!! Don't let anyone make you feel less of a person because you're going through things that aren't easy to process. TRANSPARENT MOMENT: When I was 20yrs old, I was diagnosed with severe manic depression. I was young, embarrassed and didn't want to do the necessary things to get better. I never went to therapy or took any medicine for worrying about what others thought. I juggled so much mentally without getting the proper treatment and it led to so many internal troubles. One moment I'd be the happiest person on the planet, and the next moment out of nowhere, a mental dark cloud would form. It would paralyze me. I would shut completely down. I would miss work, miss school, not show up places and just blatantly not care about anything or anyone. I never felt any of my friends would understand, so I rarely talked about it. Only a choice few knew. I was called lazy, selfish and I could never fully explain what was going on with me...partly because I didn't understand it myself. I had to learn the hard way how to live with it. I've had every dark thought possible. I've seen some very dark places, and I barely made it out. I've been through things I wouldn't wish on anyone. I said all that to say, if you're going through something, GET HELP. Don't feel bad about wanting to get better. Stay around good people. I've been looking into therapy and I feel really good about it. I realized I can't always give advice that I don't take myself.
