Abalone Stories: Loss, Connection, Renewal.
At a time when our oceans are reaching record temperatures, this recognition feels especially meaningful.
Grateful to an incredible team—Fabian Aguirre, A.J. Marson, and Maya Pisciotto—and to everyone supporting ocean storytelling.

Storytelling through film is one of the most powerful ways to bring ocean issues to light. It bridges the gap between science and general public, highlighting the urgency of ocean conservation and inspiring action.
We need your help to complete our current film, Abalone Chronicles: Loss, Connection, Renewal. Your support ensures these stories reach wider audiences and drive action when it’s needed most. There is still time to make your end of year tax-deductible donation. Link in bio.

Abalone have many stories to tell. Along California's North Coast, over 95% of the bull kelp is gone, and purple sea urchins are surging. These endangered mollusks face critical threats. Abalone Chronicles, my upcoming film, uncovers these challenges, the passion they inspire, and their cultural significance. Stay tuned for a story of resilience and hope. Photo credit: AJ Mason
