After a decade of trying to make this trip happen, and thanks to the generosity of many people, I was finally able to see @everton at Goodison Park two weekends ago.
It was a whirlwind trip that couldn’t have been foiled, even in defeat (or a draw, as it were). What a special place.
Thank you to wifey (@brwnsheep ) for the flights, my @premierleague partner (@iainwebb ) for the tickets and the company, my esteemed friend @carl.anka for joining us, and of course @jessicadeasha & @michaeldeasha for the hospitality! Reflecting on working my 10th @premierleague fan fest - all of them so far. Each one gets incrementally better and the camaraderie present at these events never ceases to amaze me. It’s truly an American trait and it’s rather heartwarming.
The folks behind the scenes who pull these off are also starting to feel like family. And to the new friends I’ve made this weekend, hello again! Loved every minute of the weekend despite some very British weather on Sunday. Seeing our old shirts on people is so fun, and even seeing the bootleg Premier League font on the last slide gave me a chuckle.
Cultivating these relationships between our partners is something that I am very proud of and its value is beyond measure, for me at least. #myplmorning
