PAPERBACK RELEASE AND FREE EPILOGUE 🪐✨ Today the paperback for Ocean’s Echo is out! This queer romantic sci-fi follows Tennal, a chaotic socialite with a terrible track record, as he causes problems on purpose for the entire military establishment, and his love interest who has memorised the entire rule book. Together they fake a soulbond and have to stop a coup, and this would all be easier if they hadn’t fallen in love. It features a new epilogue, which you can also read (for free) by signing up to the newsletter in my bio. This book means a lot to me and I hope you enjoy!

Happy release day (I think?? It’s around now anyway) to Love Galaxy - I blurbed this one! First half is a faithful lesbian-Bachelor-in-space concept and second half got WILD.

Happy release week to this slow burn queer historical fantasy which looks great and was described when the ARC was sent to me as “if BBC Merlin was a bit more gay” (those who watched BBC Merlin consider your ‘not possible’ comments taken as read). I have a copy and am hoping to get to it soon when I have dug myself out of my catastrophically uncontrolled TBR pile. In the mean time here is the summary! Born with forbidden, nature-infused magic in an occupied land, anxious apothecary Meilyr survives by keeping his head down. Until he ends up engaged to invading prince Osian in order to save his brother’s life. Now, he is in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to hide his true self. When nobles in Osian’s court are gruesomely murdered by the same magic that flows through his veins, Meilyr realises someone is seeking revenge for his homeland. As suspicion towards him grows, he and the prince work together to uncover the killer or risk losing the crown - and their lives. Between court politics, unwieldy magic and a murderer on the loose, Meilyr must keep his wits about him. Especially as his feelings for Osian grow deeper with every passing day...

COVER REVEAL: Call Me Traitor, my new sapphic fantasy book, up for preorder now! Super excited to reveal this stunning @_elibaum art, with design by @jess__kiley ! STORY: En is a weapon. Battle spells are carved into her skin, she’s trained to work through pain, and she’s magically compelled with loyalty to the archmagi. When she’s sent on a mission to retrieve a group of infamous traitors from exile in a land of unpredictable and deadly magic, she’s forced to team up with a common soldier to have any chance of success, or survival. Tamol is a disaster. En isn’t fooled by the soldier’s silver tongue and good looks. Tamol is flighty, cowardly and the worst soldier En has ever met. But she’s also brilliant at magic and kinder than En has any right to expect. When she saves En’s life, it takes everything En has not to start falling for her. That is, until En discovers Tamol is one of the very traitors she seeks. The empire never forgets. Years ago, the exiled traitors were just normal students with a vision for a better kingdom. They put their lives on the line fighting for it and lost. So they were exiled to the Far Peninsula to die. But now, the empire discovers the traitors may yet live, and they’ve unearthed something in the wilderness that the archmagi will pay any price to get. But the might of an unforgiving empire isn’t the greatest force in all the land. Something monstrous is living in the Far Peninsula that does not discriminate between soldiers, traitors, and kings. The future of the empire is unexpectedly in the hands of En and Tamol. At least the perfect soldier would never betray her orders, no matter how much she starts to question her command. Would she? Call Me Traitor is the story of a living weapon fighting her way towards humanity and the person she does it with; part-romance, part-adventure, part-Winter Soldier, and all queer. Thank you for bearing with me while I wrote this! I am super grateful for all shares and preorders (in fact for any and all interest, thank you <3) Link to all retailers in my bio for US and Canada. UK and international is not up yet but hope to be able to update when it is!

Delighted that the Dominion of the Fallen trilogy by @aliettedb has been republished with some GORGEOUS new covers! I loved the dark fallen-Paris setting of these and am going to have to reread the new editions.

An incredible climax to an incredible trilogy at the @clclarkwrites launch party for The Sovereign last night! The Unbroken hit me so hard because even now with our much expanded sapphic repertoire, you rarely see the characters allowed to be this messy, this butch, this mean and this desperately in love. I’ve only just started Sovereign and I can already tell it’s going to break me in the best way again. There is a huge joy to having the whole trilogy in my hands (and they MIGHT be my favourite book covers in my whole collection??). Big rec, pick it up.

Late but! A few months ago I got hold of an ARC of The Needfire by @mkhardywrites , a slow burn f/f historical gothic set in the Scottish Highlands, and I really enjoyed it! (I’ve been sitting on this photo until it was closer to release date, but good news, now it’s out). Summary: Fleeing her mistakes in Glasgow for a marriage of convenience, Norah Mackenzie’s new home on an estate far in the north of Scotland is a chance for freedom, a fresh start. But in the dim, draughty corridors of Corrain House, something is very wrong. Despite their warm correspondence, her distant, melancholic husband does not seem to know her. She is plagued by ghost ships on the sea, spectres at the corner of her eye, by winding, grasping roots. Her only possible companion, the housekeeper Agnes Gunn, is by turns unnerving and alluring, and harbours uncanny secrets of her own. I think it’s important to go into this one with the right expectations - it’s as atmospheric as you’d expect from a Gothic; horror-tinged, slow build. I was drawn into the vivid painting of the stark coastal part of Scotland that’s so far North it doesn’t get much exposure in fiction, and by how much the book has to say about the history of the Highlands and the Clearances. If you enjoyed Rebecca I would absolutely recommend giving this one a shot.

Last year I got an advance copy of Behooved by @mstevensonbooks and really enjoyed it - it was a super fun light romantasy and is out today! Summary: Bianca knows her duty comes before her heart. So when the threat of war looms, she agrees to marry the neighboring kingdom’s heir. But not all royal weddings are a fairytale, and Prince Aric, Bianca’s betrothed, is cold, aloof, and seems to hate her on sight. To make matters worse, on their wedding night, an assassination attempt goes awry―leaving Aric magically transformed into a horse. Bianca does what any bride in this situation would do: she mounts her new husband and rides away to safety. Sunset returns Aric to human form, but they soon discover the assassination attempt is part of a larger plot against the throne. Worse, Bianca has been framed for Aric’s murder, and she’s now saddled with a husband who is a horse by day and a frustratingly attractive man by night. As an unexpected romance begins galloping away with their hearts, Bianca and Aric must rely on each other to unravel the curse and save the throne.

Out today, this truly incredible story of “magic school from the POV of the competent harassed teacher who has to corral forty teenage wizards at once”. I am such a fan of this book, which has a queer love story but is MAINLY about Saffy’s love story with teaching. Also there is a tiny demon in the staff room photocopier.
