how long does it take to press a bridal bouquet? the quick answer is once in the press, the florals stay there for six to eight weeks. that may seem like a long time, but here’s the reason why.

moisture. you don’t want to take any chances with ensuring every part of each floral is completely dry. the key to pressing is slowly increasing the pressure of the press over the first two weeks, and staying put for a few more weeks. this allows the blooms to slowly release their moisture and retain their color and structure. flowers like orchids and cala lilies hold a lot of water, and therefore, take longer.

Some days I step back and can’t believe this gets to be my work.
Each of these frames once held a bouquet full of movement, emotion, and meaning. I love that they were carried down aisles, held during vows, and loved for a moment that passed too quickly. Now preserved to live on, quietly telling those stories for years to come.
