2025 was a wild ride!!!
For the first time in my life I wrote, realized, hosted and published my own project. It’s called
@gitarenuitdeoost and with a team of the best people around, we organized 4 talkshows that resulted in 4 podcasts too.
I wanted to learn more about my roots, wanted to be closer to the feelings the ‘Indo’ side of my family must have had - arriving in NL in 1951, starting a family band a couple years later and being part of the first rock&roll in this country. Being a 3rd generation indo-european, I have a different perspective on global and musical history (and therefore the present time too) from the 2nd. People with Indonesian roots all have different perspectives, but we have a lot in common as well. If you wanna know what, just play the podcasts 😝 - links in bio.
This is a collection of photos of me hosting it (by
@joao_mb_costa ). I don’t really use these to promote the shows, but they do remind me of my own growth and gain in belief in myself this year.
I learned a lot.
About all the different shapes of Indonesian roots there are, about all the mixes of feelings of pride, shame and grief and confusion that can exist in one person, about different ages and styles of music, about sharing the deep sense of happiness and thrill in making music.
Of course then there are all these skills I learned too. But let me just say about that: if a new season will happen, it will probably be even better 😅.
Big humongous thankyous to the speakers and their trust in me and the project, the team, the locations, partners, brainstorms with friends. 🎸❤️
Don’t know what 2026 will bring, but I’ll just celebrate this one for now. 💫
Happy holidays for everyone! ♥️
Ps. This post is in English because the show is inspired by all the awesome people I met in Indonesia during my last trip. In january I’ll visit again so hollaaa if you want to meet up again!
Ps2. I could not help but add a couple of other photos as well haha. It’s more aboutvall the other people then about me after all.
