When I first moved to Nashville, I had my arms stretched out as far as they could go. I worked with everyone who was willing and learned as much as I could from the passenger seat. Over time, however, I realized I was losing my voice in the mix. I was assimilating and morphing into what others said would go viral on TikTok or resonate with a label or publisher.
So, I slowly cut out all of the noise. I started writing by myself again and rediscovered the parts of me that wanted to say something that might make no sense to someone else, but means everything to me. There’s beauty in collaboration, but there’s also beauty in making art alone. Teaching myself how to produce has brought me full circle. I’m finally able to tell you what I hear in my mind when I write. Thanks for entertaining the idea of me as a writer and a producer. I’m having a lot of fun, and I hope you are too. :*
