Fantastic new single ‘Fever Dreams’ by @fortyelephantgang is released today! Self-recorded and produced in their home studio, ‘Fever Dreams’ is a laid-back number featuring delicate finger-picking guitar, mandolin, and dreamy pedal steel, with the bands rich harmonies on full display. Steve McQueen rubs shoulders with Marlon Brando, gods with heroic kings, none of them hanging around long enough to make sense. It’s a song that refuses to wake up properly, slouched and unbothered. Subtle noises twitch at the edges - just enough to keep you off-kilter. There’s a dry, throwaway wit buried in the lyrics, the kind that slips past before you’ve decided what it all means. Just like a dream, it leaves a distant, unresolved chord hanging in the air like the last frame of a film you almost remember, right up until the moment you wake and it slips away.
