TLDR: Artist statement from our show/listings for the 4 remaining pieces "After more than 10 years of friendship, and solidarity as working artists, Andy Joy Chase and Evan Jed Memmott have finally begun to collaborate. Kindred Spirits is their first collection of collaborative work being shown publicly. The creative process is always a challenge, and collaboration can be even harder. It took us more than a year to complete our first piece (Sego Lily), but once we did we were so pleased with the result. Our styles are incredibly different, and we weren’t sure how it was going to work out. Evan’s approach is methodical, and focused on precision when executing his squiggly line-based designs. Andy has a much more wild approach, executing her unique linework with a very special twig she dips in Sumi ink, her drawings often including drips, splatters, and scribbles. Kindred Spirits is a celebration of our kinship, both the things we have in common, and the things we don’t. The things we have in common brought us together, and the results of our differences are here on display. Our different styles and approaches form a connection that feels  both natural and intentional. These collaborations somehow shine a light on both our individual styles while still feeling balanced as a whole. The contrast is illuminating. These are our first collaborations, but they will definitely not be our last. Kindred Spirits is just the beginning." The last four pieces available are the 4 shown above. DM if interested. Payment plans available for the big guys if needed: 1. CERTAIN CACTUS 32”x40”x1.5” Wood panel with sumi ink and acrylic paint $500 2. 32”x40” mixed media on panel. I attempted to draw a woodpecker and went with a golden eagle instead. Evan’s crisp line work tied the painting together beautifully. You can still check out the show for another two weeks or so. ——SOLD—— #andyjoychaseart

This little guy was one of my favorite pieces that Andy and I made for KINDRED SPIRITS. It was intimidating to execute, but I really enjoyed it. And it gave me some ideas of other designs I could try. This show snapped me out of a creative lull I'd been stuck in for quite a while, and I'm so grateful to be out of it. Just hope it sticks. 🤞🤞
