Eighty-Sixed. That’s the face of Pure Joy. Getting to work on a big gay show in a intimate queer space has been one of the biggest delights of my design career. This cast and crew and my fellow creatives went on a rollercoaster ride with this show but it ended up being one of the best things I’ve been through in a long while. I’m so sad I can’t be there today to celebrate all the amazing people and hard work that went into this show. This show definitely pushed me as a designer and artist and I couldn’t be prouder of the outcome. And that’s a wrap on Arms Wide Open’s production of Willy Wonka. It’s been a crazy two weeks but it’s completely worth every second for seeing these kids up on stage.
Throwback to this past weekend closing this great production of Vietgone. This experience has been truly amazing and I was so sad to close this chapter. I got to work with so many amazing people during this whole process and I am so grateful to be apart of this magic. This production changed my outlook on what theatre can be and how innovative design can be. Thank you @melanurr for entrusting your beautiful and fun sound design in my hands, I can’t wait to work with you again soon. To The cast and run crew we were honestly a family this during this run and I miss all of you dearly. And thank you to all the people who came to the theatre to share this experience with us. As our fearless leader @jescajane said this wasn’t just good Asian American Theatre, it was just good god damn theatre in general. .
