Asian Chorus of Dionysus
Euripides' ancient greek play titled Bacchae follows the origin myths surrounding Dionysus and his mortal family. At the beginning, Dionysus arrives from Asia (or the Ancient Greeks perception of 'Asia') where he has lived since birth, and his Chorus of followers arrive with him.
In this ancient Greek pottery-style painting, each of the chorus women are dressed to represent each of the six ancient cultures the play states that Dionysus had lived among during his adolescence: (from left to right) The Medes, Assyrians, Ionians, Bactrians, Phrygians, and Persians.

An old classic piece I did back in high school... Taking 3 separate works from Gustave Dore and combining them into a single combination: Alice walking through Dante's Forest of Sui***** as lucifer looks on nearby. It was a fun project and study of my favorite artist.

Two of my favorite renderings I've done- Queen Tiye and Pharaoh Akhnaten, for a theoretical film adaptation of Akhnaten: the Opera. Queen Tiye is shown in her funeral attire for her husband's- Amenhotep III- funeral, and Akhnaten (Queen Tiye's son) is in his full Pharaonic garb to address his people in his city of Tell El-Amarna. I LOVE researching ancient cultures, and I really wanted my costume design to reflect the complexity and beauty of Ancient Egypt by staying as faithful as humanly possible to historical records of dress.

Menswear!!! I love getting to be creative with mens costumes, cause frankly, mens clothes are traditionally MUCH more boring than women's. (Post-18th century, of course. My personal opinion is that interesting mens fashion died with the ditto suit)

Working on my thesis has allowed me to finally really look back at some of my recent work- especially the 4th year short film Mozart (focusing on Nannerl Mozart, rather than Wolfgang)- and really get to appreciate the work I did, which I normally don't have much time to do.
