Menagerie (the song) is now yours today. - What a surreal thing to finally say. This song has been on the back burner for many years at this point. I started writing this song in December of 2022, and I ended up doing a near-complete mix of this song a few months later. However, I never released it. I painstakingly overthought every single part of production. Going back and forth on this song made me lose faith in it, so I shelved it. I ended up not releasing another song for years. It wasn’t until I performed this song live a few times (with some extremely talented people I must add) and started helping a friend of mine with the OST for his video game mod that I started regaining my confidence. All of this led me to revisit “Menagerie” and finally release it, and I couldn’t think of a better song to signify my return to releasing music. This song’s about not letting your past struggles and experiences define who you are. About finding meaning and purpose outside of one’s own pain. I’ve always considered this song to be the antithesis of another song I wrote, “Blink and You’ll Miss It”. It’s cool to see how far I’ve come since writing that song. “Menagerie” is one of the songs I’m most proud of, and I wrote it with a whole lot of love. "Ethereal", the string quartet composition that I presented a few months back, is out now, along with the full "theatrical" performance on Youtube.
